The Mandalorian (TV series)

It's actually the first time I thought his helmet looked like spraypainted platic instead of steel. Like in Robocop the suit never looked metal to me and I just accepted it but so far this kit looked pretty neat. Maybe the snow effect, I dunno.
I enjoyed this one too, my only gripe was that the Razor Crest was waaaaay too damaged to be credibly limping anywhere after a bit of welding here n there.
The space cops were great, schlobby pilots 3 weeks before retirement patrolling the outer rim, all it needed was a couple of empty donut bags in the cockpit.
If you look at the Helmet close up at the beginning of the episode he still has the gunk from being inside the Kryat dragon,...continuity,....he got straight back to the Razor Crest & left straight away on his mission

The producers are putting in details to preserve continuity....gone are the days when the hero has a scrap & two seconds later his hair is perfect

I enjoyed it. Laughed at the way the child eats everything. Kind of cringed at what a crappy pilot Mando is. Thought the sequence with the spiders was pretty good. I guess I don't need this show to be anything except entertaining.

not a bad episode this one, probably not my favorite, but very character building, but seemed like it ended abruptly,
also can anybody explain why mando would keep zero on the razor crest, i thought he hated droids,

Well, The Armorer did tell Din "The songs of eons past tell of battles between Mandalore The Great, and an order of sorcerers called Jedi," and Din replies "You want me to return this thing to a race of enemy sorcerers?" which she affirms is the case.
Episode 5 is directed by Dave Filoni, and I read that it's called "The Sorcerer." Soooo....yeah. Seems like we should get Ahsoka in 3 more weeks.
That'll make me give thanks!

Crappy pilot?! The hell are you talking about? He managed to give two x-wings the slip and would've been in the clear, if not for the ice giving out under the 'Crest...

Zero has evidence of the prison break, probably safer to keep him around until he can be properly disposed of

still some things to think about, whether its just plot device for the episode, maybe, no doubt will see zero see again, since mado doesnt speak frog, or some other episode maybe,
but if i was mando, trying to find his people and getting a kid back to its people and running this offhand uber trip,
i certainly wouldnt have incriminating jailbreak evidence lying around ready for the authorities to find, especially with the very likely possiblity of being borded/searched anytime,

But you have had time to sit back and think it through! Mando was sort of in the heat of the moment when he made his decision.

I remember a time in the eighth grade when we had a bully who was terrorizing everybody. He had been held back twice, so obviously he was two years and 8 inches taller than the rest of us. He would always pull the switchblade out of his pocket and threaten to open it up and cut anybody who wouldn’t give him their lunch money.

He would push people, punch them in the back of the head for no reason, kick them in the back of the legs and make them fall down when they were carrying their lunch to the table. Everyone was terrified of him and he knew that he was ruling the entire eighth grade class.

So one day after several months of this, I decided enough was enough and that we needed a champion. Sadly, the champion was me. As he was shaking down a kid in the cafeteria, I approached him and told him that his mother didn’t love him which is why she wouldn’t even bother to make a lunch for him.

I then told him it didn’t help that he was stupid and ugly either! I saw the other kids begin to get courage, they began cheering me on, which infuriated him.

I don’t think he ever had to throw an actual punched in a fight before, but when he did I easily ducked it. And then took the easiest and quickest route, and nailed him right in the balls! When he bent over to grab his Nutsack, I grabbed him by the hair and threw my knee into his face cracking his nose!

As he was on the floor cradling his swollen ball’s and broken nose, I went into his pocket and pulled out his switchblade. I opened it up to discover it was a comb.

I kept it as a trophy, remembering the day that I broke a bully and humbled him in front of everybody.

Maybe that is why Mando kept zero’s head!

I wouldn't mind Zero as the Mando's sidekick, Ayoade is great at voicing him. Plus every SW heroes team needs a droid, right?
i liked zero and im also a fan of richard ayoade, (he was great in the i.t. crowd) i hope he's still around for a bit longer, i wouldnt mind if zero was reassembled\programmed and maybe becoming a sidekick\babysitter, that dynamic may well be quite fun
i guess im also missing IG-11,

Doubtful. It would duplicate the story line mando has with the child if he has to raise zero to be a "good person" also, and would completely alleviate one of the main tensions in each story if Mando could just leave the kid with a heavily armed, loyal, murder bot at the ship every time he needed.

IG-11 did well as part of season 1 where Mando had to learn to challenge his preconceptions of others. I'm hoping season 2 keeps working towards the potential of challenging his own personality/thoughts/personal preconceptions (lots of wiggle room to play with what it means to be a Mandalorian).

That said, Zero getting "liberated" off of the razorcrest some day, and finding his way back into the rogue's gallery would be a lot of fun for sure.

Hahaha. I knew somebody was going to say that. ;)

I took it to be a mix. the razorcrest was good for anonymity, not some tuned up combat machine. up against x-wings, in the relative open like that, it would have been toast if the republic pilot's goals had been to kill him. that said, it was still more than capable of pulling a few tricks when helmed by a decent pilot that knows the ship well; allowing mando to capitalize on the "catch and incarcerate" mood of the x-wing pilots.

By the way, I don't understand the maneuver where he lets the Razor Crest free fall. Was he trying to cut them lose by shutting off the ship? Like, not letting their scanners find him or something like that? Cause that didn't seem to work. Or was it just so we, the audience, could have some laughs at the expense of a terrified Ms. Frog?

I assumed it was just the best way to change direction down, while maintaining the ability to quickly shoot back up (which is what he did right after). Instead of nosing down, then coming back up in a "U"; he cut power, dropped quicker, manuvered thrusters to point up, then gunned it.

Plus, I'm sure the writers also wanted a good reason to show Mrs Toad ******** herself with fear.
