The Mandalorian (TV series)

I really like The Mandalorian, but does anybody find the speaking Tusken language and what ever this last species was a little silly. Even when Han spoke Wookiee in Solo I thought it was goofy. Anybody else feel this way?

I don't know if this comparison has been made, but Din is like the Mad Max of "Star Wars". He's kind of the supporting character in his own show sometimes.

If they are truly bringing Boba back, killing off Din and making Boba the titular character of the series could be interesting. Think of Boba taking up the role as the protector of The Child. That would be a redemptive arc if there ever was one.

Yea, some do.

Is what it is. I assume they added it in after getting feedback on him having just used hand signals in season one when they spoke.

Maybe they decided it was too far a leap to plan ambushes and all that in a ciniematic way with him and the tuskens flailing at each other.

They've made similar choices before. Kuil was going to grunt like ESB ugnots, but it looked awful having two characters with little facial expressions, being subtitled for minutes at a time.

I assume the choice to have him both speak and understand tusken was due the same reason; it just let the story keep moving along at a better place.

I kind of assume she's working from the idea that they don't all make it? Like presumably, not all would even turn into kids. Frog eggs are high in number and a lot get eaten.

At least I hope that a species with that kind of shotgun approach to children is of that mindset. LoL.

Is an interesting idea, that many sci-fi/fantasy setting don't play with as much as I'd expect. The most I tend to see it is like "no, you can't harvest these crystals! They're psychic!"

What is it like in a universe when you've got equivalents of "food" animals walking and talking. What is it like when one species' children is the same thing you'd order for breakfast?

My Sideshow "The Child" will be here on TUESDAY!! Another addition to the growing Mando collection.. (y)

This reminds me of the questions that arise in the Pokémon universe. They spend all this time catching and raising these Pokémon but we don’t really see any “normal” animals which means they must also eat Pokémon.

LoL. Yea. And even in that show, they shy away from covering that pokemon must also be food.

I think detective pikachu even shows a bunch of pokemon on a farm or something.

I guess the other closest thing we have to that in well known star wars lore is... Wookie/transdoshan relationships? Where one hunts the other for sport.

I’m not surprised, they played it safe with the merch for the first season so they’ve got to really crank it out now that the popularity is so widespread

Well it does raise an important question. If she was the last of her kind you would assume that she would know exactly how many eggs she had left and would be pretty pissed off knowing the child is eating them like snacks.

Either way it's still pretty careless on her part. Especially if she's risking her life to have a family.

Yea. It's last of their family name. Which seems sketchy given how many brothers and sisters each generation should have. Being born by the canister full.

Either way. She's good with it. They're either unimportant enough from a number standpoint that she doesn't count, and thus doesn't care. Or she counts, can tell there are some missing, and again, doesn't care because she doesn't flip out.

That, or she's a terrible mom and doesn't count, and is gonna wait for her kids to be born and notice a half dozen are missing. LoL
