The Mandalorian (TV series)

See, I just took it as he was teaching/raising it as a surrogate child. We were just introduced to it as it was serving tea, which was just being hospitable. I could be reading it wrong.
That's a fair point. I see it as a little of both.

I believe the intent probably was demonstrate parenting as you sort of mentioned.

I can agree.

I get the feeling that droids are created with a purpose, & it's a bit rare to see them with personalities & actual 'companions' unless it's with the particular heroes of a particular movie or show. I feel the majority of the characters in the universe (other than Lando's Droid in Solo) would consider droids tools & property. Even R2 identified himself by who he belonged to.

Really not arguing, but I don't think the droids would be analogous to indentured slaves.

Yea, droids seem to function more as pure tools for the simple ones, or as loyal friends for the smarter ones with personalities.

So....does Captain Phasma rock Beskar?

Nope. her armor is made out of the polished metal of a nabo transport.

Goofy Ass Cannon said:
Phasma's armor was the unique stormtrooper armor of the First Order Captain Phasma. Phasma had the armor polished in chromium, which had been salvaged from a Naboo yacht that had once belonged to Emperor Palpatine of the Galactic Empire,[1] the First Order's precursor.

The chromium finish on the armor helped reduce radiation, but Phasma primarily wore it as a symbol of past power.

Carl Weather's acting when he was a hologram was cringe-worthy.

Carl Weathers is not the sharpest tool in the box it appears.... i once read he refused stallone archive footage from rocky 1,2 and 3 for the movie Creed,,Weathers apparently wanted a part in the movie even tho he was written out of the franchise in rocky 4,stallone ofcourse had to refuse....hehe go figure

So, what are everyone's opinion - is the TIE Fighter from episode 7 specially modified to land as it did (now known as the TFF - TIE Fighter Fold), or should we believe all have that capability?

I quite liked this TIE. The one thing that I had not too long ago started really thinking about was how the pilots get out if they had to land in an area without landing support. I've never seen the official schematics, but I started thinking of how the bottom looked like a hatch that would open, and the entire seat would lower on a rail. I mean, we've seen lots of silly landing systems in Star Wars, and this makes the most sense. Hell, more than an x-wing with the throw-away ladder that's apparently needed.

And then, of course, we see Moff open the Top of his TIE, pop his head up through it, and then cut scene to be on the ground, with no reasonable way down. Certainly not a very dignified way for a MOFF to get out of his ship.

And why would a Moff be using a TIE fighter to begin with? TIEs should be fighter escorts to a Lambda class shuttle, which would be more fitting transport for a Moff. It was good enough for the Emperor.

I'd say there's a hover platform,...no ladders etc,....we don't see anything from the side view of the TIE,...we dont see the ground in front of the ship,...so the platform could be there

I think its a suitable vehicle,. Vader & Kylo have their TIE's.....Needa had a TIE,....maybe Moff Gus is just cool with slumming it with his Stomies.....plus the Empire is gone & perhaps theres no grand shuttles left

I thought Captain Needa flew to Executor in a shuttle, not a TIE. I'll double check. Vader and Kylo had roles more in line as military combatants than civilian administrators, as Moffs are. Force users in the Empire (and subsequently the First Order) were allowed to do pretty much whatever they wanted (though technically, Vader did answer to Tarkin in IV)

This guy also commands a bunch of Death Troopers, so I can see him being a little more hands on as far as Moffs go.

Krennic commanded Death Troopers, too. And he was kind of a coward.
Then again, Thrawn commanded Death Troopers, and he went hands on a bit as well.

The difference being Directors and Moffs are civilians, with honorary military ranks. Assistant Director Ronen (sp?), from the third Thrawn novel, was a civilian, but held the honorary rank of Colonel due to his position working on a military program.

I'm not saying Moff Gideon Fring, shouldn't be flying a TIE, especially if it's not a run of the mill TIE. It's still bad ass. The situation may not have warranted a shuttle, or it was used to drop the troop carrier full of Stormies.

I kinda want to see just how much the Imperial Remnant still has. Gideon's troops were clean and polished and well equipped, whereas the Client's troops were dirty and run down. The concept art in Ep 3 showed Herzog's imps missing pieces of their armor, and were even lesser equipped than what was on screen and filmed.

Waiting till the 27th is going to be torture.

Needa's shuttle looks a lot like a TIE advance X1. Its definitely not a standard TIE.
It's at 1:13:26 of the ESB:SE, Disney + wont let me take a screenshot. Needa does tell his second to get a shuttle ready. I think Solo showed aTIE shuttle also, which as I said, looks a lot like Vaders TIE and a TIE Bomber combined.

When watching that tie open, I told the wife omg prepare yourself, because I will literally be on my feet and screaming with joy if Thrawn gets out of it. To which she replied, "what's a thrawn? Is it like a wampa? They dont fly ships."

So apparently Gideons TIE is a new model.

The Legends page is very incorrect. A TIE shuttle looks like this.
