The Mandalorian (TV series)

I don’t give a damn how “bad ass” or how much combat experience you have....you punch a guy in the helmet with bare fists, you’re too stupid to live, and everything previously claimed about you is wrong. The fact that more than one of these punches happened without broken hands, is “strike 2” from me and **** writing in this show. The rest of it was mostly ok, if a bit too fast paced, IMO.

No significant gripes than others about episode 5 but the more I watch it the more I get a “Firefly” vibe to the show. Not sure if I like that or not for SW but leaning towards “nope”.

Assuming this complaint is about Chapter 4.

1. At no point is Cara "bare handed".

2. Her gloves are armored.

I’m not buying knuckle guards over leather gloves vs a “beskar” helmet. There’s no support for the structure of the hand during the punch against something as solid as a metal helmet, other than the fabric of the gloves, those guards only protect against abrasion or falls, not punching an armored helmet, particularly one so tough with Beskar.

But to be fair, she's not punching a wall. The helmet will move on his skull, his head will move back with the force of the punch, his body will react going with the force of the punch, etc.

I wouldn't punch a cast iron wall, but punching a cast iron skillet, hanging from a rope or something, I think is doable with armored gloves.

And I’ve also seen people punch not steel walls with “protective gloves” like Kevlar plates(because ain’t nothing in the world more dumb/ridiculous than a platoon of young soldiers), who break/crack/sprain fingers punching their buddies trying out their newly purchased “high speed” gloves for a deployment(not everyone sticks with just issued for a deployment).

Her gloves are still dumb (when used to) punch him in the head without a true armored glove/gauntlet is stupid.

Not sure why everyone works so hard to prove flaws.

Maybe we can also debate why there's sound in space?

Yeah, I get a fistfight should be more grounded in reality than a space battle, but I think it's time to just this one go?

I griped about the music earlier but have to admit it is growing on me and has felt less out of place as the show has progressed. I am not therefore old enough to be completely stuck in my ways!!! (awww, who am I kidding...)

Don't forget, this in the Star Wars universe, not ours. Who knows what kind of properties her gloves might have, I mean in a world with mind controld powers, telekinesis, faster than light travel, lasers capable of destroying entire planets, is it that hard much of a stretch for someone to be able to punch someone wearing a helmet? For all we know they could be lined with some kind of super padding that's like the Beskar of padding, or maybe they have a low powered force field around them.
