The Mandalorian (TV series)

The only thing I was even slightly disappointed with was the size of the New Republic strike team. The way they were talking, I was expecting a Mon Cal Cruiser to show up along with the fighters. The X-wings, as awesome as it was to see them, were slightly underwhelming.

Best episode yet. Actual comedy, great display of main character`s abilities and the best interaction between a group of characters in what seems like forever.

Did anyone else get a Daalek / Dr. Who vibe from the big black sentry droids?
I think they were based on the New Hope R1-G4 which incidentally was designed as an homage to a a Chris Foss painting for an Asimov book cover from 1973. thought it a nice touch that they floated... I guess the jawas had a broken one lol!

Yeah so digging it. It's like an old star wars m.u.d. Living by the seat of your pants in very dangerous, very Star Wars universe. Mr. Death is listening, and he'll take the first man who screams. I don't require profundity, good action and some of the best character actors to backlight Mando. Mar Boone Jr., Clancy Brown, Nick Nolte! My nerd cup overflows!

Not sure if this was discussed but in episode 4, Mando was telling his story about his childhood rescue and he says "The Mandalorians took me in..." or something like that. I took it to mean that he is not ethnically a Mandalorian, like Pre Vizla, Sabine, etc. Is that assumption correct?

Also, the Twi'leks in Episode 6, weren't they in Rebels or Clone Wars previously? I seem to think they were, but can't recall.

I knew I recognized that robot's voice. It's Moss!

Was that the most unguarded, nonchalant prison ship ever? And what about that countdown until the x-wings arrived? Weren't they WAY past the 20 minute mark when they were still on the ship?

And if Mando gets shot in the shoulder one more time, I'm gonna scream.

Filoni was a big fan of Karen Traviss' work creating the Mandalorian culture for her Republic Commando series. She heavily based them on the ancient Celts who were known for being big adopters. They didn't care who you were, if you were strong enough to live their life, they would take you in. So, yes, that is a reasonable assumption.

And, no, these Twi'leks are new additions to the lore.

At this point in star wars history, there is no real such thing as an ethnic Mandalorian. It's a culture. You might join, or you might be raised in it. At least that's how it is until the something comes along to contradict that.

And with the idea of "foundlings" being thrown around so much, it sounds like picking up orphans is pretty common.

I read an article that explains how the Mando in this show is to close to Boba's appearance and how it's a bad choice because Boba is not Mandolorian. Let me say that is the most asinine plot element to come out of the prequels. Making Boba a clone of a mando armor wearing bounty Hunter and is just following his father's footsteps was a piss poor decision.

The whole concept of the Mando's came from Boba Fett. To my knowledge its mostly made from fan lore but since became Canon. To have the inspiration not be well the inspiration is a joke move. To my eyes Boba is a true Mandalorian. He never removes his helmet and follows the code. Why would the other Mando's just let him wear their look and name and logo when he isn't one of them? I would think they would put a stop to it.

He wears the Mando logo so he IS a Mandalorian. Screw what is Canon and what Lucas has to say.

In other news I read this article or maybe just the first paragraph. I stopped reading because of the stupidity the first paragraph displayed.
