Is the idea that Bobas armor survived canon?

In the original EU, boba Fett manages to make his way out of the sarlacc, but if I recall he goes through the rest of his career without Mandalorian armor, because it got so jacked up in the pit.

I have not seen or heard anything about the new official Canon having someone salvage his armor from the pit

Anyone know if they actually went to Tunisia to film this? That cantina entrance shot was SPOT ON.

My take on the cantina being dead is that the Hutts are all gone, there’s hardly any work around anymore and it just isn’t a busy hive of scum and villainy anymore. No business, no reason to be there.

Interesting that the droid detector has gone from the lobby and the barman is a droid. It does indeed look like the place has fallen on hard times. :)

In the AFTERMATH trilogy of novels, there's a character that supposedly found a set of Mandalorian armor near where the Sarlacc lived. I say lived because when Jabba's sail barge blew up, it killed the Sarlacc & ripped it open.

So this character pretty much is a self proclaimed sheriff in a lawless town. It's never confirmed either way that it is or isn't Fett, but it's pretty much just a side story, much like what happened to Jar Jar, that doesn't give a definitive answer.

I'd be willing to wager that the mystery character at the end of the episode isn't Fett. I say it's either Giancarlo Esposito's character, Moff Gideon or its the Mando himself that went back for Fennec or something she had.

He bought it from the Jawas correct?

It's most definitely Boba, or another Mandalorian. The spurs, and the kind of sonar beeping are sounds up to this point, only made by Boba or The Mandalorian. Its definitely not The Mando himself, as the this person is lacking the ammo cylinders on their right shin.

I don't know if that was Boba but I 100% believe he's coming back. If Darth Maul can return after being cut in half, and Palpy can presumably return after exploding in the Death Star, then why the heck can't Boba survive some Sarlacc gut?

Boba does have a jet pack. Maybe he got that working, or Jawas rescued him while scavenging Jabba's barge wreck. Would make for a good flash back episode on its own.

Wasn't it though! :)
The real location is in such poor shape now, it would take less work to just recreate it, which I'm 99% sure is what they did.

Regarding Boba... Yeah, it was Aftermath that skirted that. The Mandalorian armor that guy found that the Jawas were selling was described as badly acid-scarred. The Jawas said they found it scavenging near where Jabbas's barge blew up, but that there hadn't been anyone in it.

Boba had several sets of armor on his ship, and I expect he didn't hang around. Nothin' to stop him from coming back to Tatooine in pursuit of that bounty on Shand. Or some other, as yet unraveled reason. Presuming, of course, that's him in the first place.

About my only quibble is that Beggar's Canyon is near Anchorhead, not Mos Eisley. The spaceport is a good most of a day's travel by landspeeder. It was enough out of his way that Luke offered to give Ben a ride in to Anchorhead where the latter could get a transport to Mos Eisley, rather than take him there himself. Those poor pit droids have a bit of a schlep ahead of them...
