The Mandalorian (TV series)

I just don't like the Clone Wars though I actually liked the Tartakovsky series,....I just don't find them interesting or exciting, when Disney bought LFL, the first thing they did was cancel the 3D film projects & the CW cartoon,....soon they refocussed on the OT era & Rebels was released

I enjoyed the first series some nice space battles, chirpy dialogue etc, but pretty soon it started slipping back to the characters & storylines of the Clone Wars, heavy on Jedi, Mando lore, Maul...I gave up on it when I was embarrassed watching Vader flying standing on top of his TIE & bad guys flying with lightsaber helicopters....

I hope that Jon Favreau will keep the right mix in the series, so that it stays as a general audience favourite that it is now, & not slip into a Filoni nerdshow

EDIT: the lowest rated episode was the one written & directed by Filoni.....just sayin'

Couldn’t agree more.

So again, I don't do Twitter, so I was just sharing a report that Filoni had changed his banner. If it's in fact true that he's had it for several years, then I apologise for reporting click bait as 'news'. I'll try to do better.;)

This is completely fan made, but I thought some here may enjoy it.

... & here's the link.

Yess!!! I love all of the franchise! Unfortunately one time someone (no one on here) asked me if I liked star wars?, I said yes, then he said, what movies? I said all of them! Then he said that I am not a real fan then.

sillines. I hope they were kidding, but even if not, it's nothing new. There's a weird trend in some places to act like this is new and Star Wars specific, but it's not either. There's always been that in every genre. I remember as a kid there were a few who thought you weren't a real Star Wars fan if you also liked Trek, and weren't a real Trek fan if you couldn't name Kirk's birthplace. People are like that. I always chuckle and think "just wait until they discover sports fans, then they'll REALLY see how toxic a fan base can be."

In the end, all you can do is like what you like. I like some Star Wars and try to pretend some didn't happen, but even for my favorite I still enjoy nitpicking. In some ways even more so, considering I've been a part of more discussions dissecting the originals than all the other movies and TV shows combined.

As a female geek, this is nothing new. Welcome to our world, boys...

Regarding Boba... Yeah, it was Aftermath that skirted that. The Mandalorian armor that guy found that the Jawas were selling was described as badly acid-scarred. The Jawas said they found it scavenging near where Jabbas's barge blew up, but that there hadn't been anyone in it.

Boba had several sets of armor on his ship, and I expect he didn't hang around. Nothin' to stop him from coming back to Tatooine in pursuit of that bounty on Shand. Or some other, as yet unraveled reason. Presuming, of course, that's him in the first place.

About my only quibble is that Beggar's Canyon is near Anchorhead, not Mos Eisley. The spaceport is a good most of a day's travel by landspeeder. It was enough out of his way that Luke offered to give Ben a ride in to Anchorhead where the latter could get a transport to Mos Eisley, rather than take him there himself. Those poor pit droids have a bit of a schlep ahead of them...

I would be okay with Boba showing up, and I think he will after that tease in episode 5. He will likely be the main antagonist of a later season. I theorize that Boba will in some way tie into the larger story by way of Kamino, as we have seen the Kaminoan patch on the doctor.

Think about it: two bounty hunters playing cat and mouse, one a true Mandalorian and the other a rogue who has (presumably) killed Mandalorians and appropriates their armor just to show how much of a hardass he is.

Pre-ordered straight from Disney store on Jan 10th.

i ordered one for the wife before Christmas, put a photo recreation of the early bird certificate in a card, wrapped it and put it under the Christmas tree.
Where is hers?

I know I am late to the part, but OI finally got to see it yesterday. Binged watched it all in one sitting.

That was the best Star Wars based story I have seen since Empire Strikes Back. It is everything the sequel series should have been. It evokes nostalgia in seeing familiar things, but it stands on it's own without crapping all over the past.

My favorite moments of the series were the Jawa chase sequence and the interaction between the two biker scouts after they picked up the child and were waiting for their next orders and pretty much any scene with IG-11 or the child.

I was not surprised at that biker scout scene when I saw Taika Waititi had directed the finale. That was right up his ally as far as the mix of action, humor and heart

More things like The Mandalorian and Solo. Less of the new trilogy stuff basically just remaking the original trilogy, but worse

5 and 6 were definitely the weakest episodes.

And you are right about the overall mix, I want more Favreau, less Filoni

HEADS UP EVERYONE!!!

THE CHILD is up on Build-A-Bear!

5 in 1 bundle is the only way to purchase, for about $60. You get him, pre-stuffed, sound chip in one hand, theme song chip in the other, & a cardboard house for him to live in.

I'm liking this better than the Disney plush.

Yeah, but notice they give no episode time length. Remember when everyone was expecting hour long Mando episodes? I hope these aren't just little 5 and 10 minute bits.
