It looks like the mandos were using a butterfly stool in camp. The ones I'm seeing that are available would need some altering- paint, a bar greeb added at the fulcrum, a pad and strapping to hold the pad in place. It could be the screen used already had those features, but this is the general style of stool.

On the outside side where the pieces are connected, it looks like there is a solid bar underneath the two screws I'm seeing on most of these stools.

I think what you are seeing as a bar is just a reflection highlight from the wood being cylindrically curved in that area.
 
It looks to me like a band, might even be paint or tape, between and possibly over the carriage bolts to disguise them, possibly? As it also gets very dark at the ends where the bolts would be, maybe they removed the bolts and random a band or cord through both holes to keep it together? Again, to hide the construction or remove the bolts.

Possibly? It's a pretty distinct difference from the rest of the wood and only runs in-between the two spots where the bolts would be/are so I still lean towards there being something there.

That was kinda what I was thinking. Something added to disguise/space-ify the bolts. I'm not sure they would have removed them entirely because they would be load bearing, but they were using it more as a helmet stand, so who knows.

Gotcha, I could see that, but I wasn’t sure that’s what you meant since it appears on the product image. My bad, but yeah I guess crew could’ve modified them for set.
 
Found that little one at The Resistor. There is another one that I could not ID yet.

PS: Have a great ID on another item, but I am waiting for confirmation from manufacurer.
