The Horrors Of “Star Trek: TOS” Teeth

Ah, yes…sweet and mild Camels will nourish your “T - Zone”…

And, don’t forget, more doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette…

I recently watched “Let Thet Be Your Last Battlefield” (with half black / half white Frank Gorshin), for the first time in years, and noticed something I had never noticed before—some of the Original Series actors’ teeth were a chamber of horrors. This was apparent in the extreme zooms used in the “Enterprise self-destruct sequence”.

Yikes!

We have come a long way in dental care since the 1960’s, apparently.

Was not an issue when your TV screen was 23-24 inches max.

Nah they are just better at hiding them..

A good 60% maybe of todays actors use "Clips" either to change appearance as the role demands it or simply vanity...

Yeah, but braces were rare back in the day when they were children

Leonard, Deforest, and Jimmy also smoked like chimneys, which is why you can see tobacco stains on their teeth
Dohan had smoked but had stopped after WW2. But how many knew he had his middle finger on his right hand blown off by Machine gun, firewhile storming the beach at Normandy. He hid it very well but there is a scene in the episode "The Trouble With Tribbles," where he is holding an arm full of Tribbles, You can see it quite well for a second.

Jimmy smoked many times in front of me in the 70’s as well as during the shoot of “Trek”

He was indeed one of the greatest generation
