right along the bottom edge (i think the entire way across under the 'line' for the boxed in area) you can see it on their product image of the production one (the one with the shipping tube)

Your map turned out great! what did you use to do your moon runes? Same method as Weta? printed white on the back?

Yeah, I saw it. Really obvious now that I look, lol. That's too bad; I suppose one could always rip the corner off...

yes most jewelers can just fill that engraving in.

That's good to know! I think I might look into this. Unless anyone else does I will let you know what i find out:

-if it's possible
-how much it costs
-how it looks
-whether it compromises accuracy

Had a "well why the hell not?" moment last night and bought the Key. Not even seen the film yet, but for $30...why the hell not.-

Fiberglass is a stronger material which means the Weta replica would stand up to use better than the UC version (which would chip and shatter more easily).

The UC version is polyresin, cast from the Weta prop. The prop seemed to be polyurethane to me when I handled it, just like most of the Weta weapon props. Perhaps the core rod is fibergalss. The core on the UC version is a steel rod.

Fiberglass, would be more crack resistant than polyresin, but the poly used on the UC version is not the brittle mix like you find used for little polyresin statues. Still, I would not wack the crown into anything whether it be polyresin or fibrglass. There are some very thin tendrils that wrap around the lattice crown inside.

I've been holding out on picking up the UC version of Gandalf's staff, hoping Weta would put one out. I'm guessing the Weta version is the one to buy, simply because they're made from the production molds? I was also wary of the UC version simply because of the various paint chipping problems I've read about for the LOTR staffs...

I'm actually more satisfied with the Thror's map I made in anticipation for the Hobbit, because I under-weathered the folds and stains. Only upon closer inspection do the other creases really show up. The ink is also darker than in the original LOTR prop. (I made one or two mistakes in the map, but they're really quite small)

I got the Noble collection Key to Erebor as a Christmas gift, and to say the least, it is disappointing. The key is about 1/2 the size it should be, and the tooth of the key is filled in. I'm not even sure it's metal. I looked online, and found that the awesome WETA key is the same price. :facepalm

Anyway, I hope to pick up the proper WETA Key, the $100 Ring, and maybe a UC LOTR Sting.

Just got the ring and it is amazing. Next I'll be grabbing the chain and US Hobbit Sting. Then maybe Orchrist.

By the way, has anyone with the WETA tungsten carbide ring and chain had problems with the chain scratching the gold plating? I am worried about this and would like to know before I purchase the chain. Otherwise I may just carry it in my vest pocket (or loin cloth).

Tungsten carbide is meant to be very scratch resistant because of its extreme hardness. In fact it is so hard that it is in the brittle side and can crack if dropped from a height.
