The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Game of the year definetly. Me and my mate at work are competing to see who can kill the most dragons. I've only killed a couple and I just learnt he now has his own dragon he can call into fight for him. Damn this game is awsome. It's the first time in years I've been totally engrossed in a video game. It's taking me back years to when I played the first elder scrolls game Arena. Anybody else remember that one?I've played all the games since in the series religiously. I bought my 360 just so I could play Oblivion.

Didn't know it was killable.....besides...you spend so much time with your hands tied, you can't pick up a weapon till later....

It sucks im at work right now cause this game is already nearing morrowind levels of awesome

Feels very TES, it has some dirty looks from Fallout 3, and thats a good thing.

YES! I told Kristen last night that the ground terrain is VERY reminiscent of Fallout 3!

How easy is to rip a dragon limb from limb in beast form?

I'm still debating on going that route or not.

Nearly level 15, 3 dragons down now....this game is staggering....i hate fast travelling as there's just SO much to see!!!!

I agree about the fast travel, but I think riding a wagon is a great improvment in a role playing aspect. This map is huge so fast traveling is perhaps a must.

I think Skyrim is much more alive than Oblivion, the voice acting, dialoges, and no zoom in on faces during dialoge, is much better. The freedom to make cross class characters any way you want is great also. The story does feel better.

Early to say, but I could put this as the best TES game yet.

NAZ. you've hit it on the head, the world does REALLY feel alive....everything moves and flows...there's so much wildlife...even the clouds moving across the sky.....

And you're right about the voice acting...a big leap over Oblivion, (which i loved to death!) where there seemed to be 5 or 6 actors that were reused for multiple characters...

I just love this game....Although...strangely....i'm missing the old repair armor and weapons stuff...

I just started playing....now trying to decide what character to pick. I was a nord (i think) in oblivion and it worked out pretty well.....Not sure what to pick for this game

Just came up for air. This game is *beautiful!*

I got a little cranky when I first loaded it up and it did the test to determine optimal performance. It set everything on low. :angry

I mean, I know she ain't cutting edge, but still... so I got in, left the draw distances like they were set but upped the textures and shadows to high. Have only seen one instance of bogging framerates, and that was in a large city with many people and heavy snow so the particles were going fast and furious. The rest of the time it runs like a dream and I sometimes just stop to stand and gawp at the scenery.

I just got done with a quest that started with a drinking contest and turned into a medieval version of the hangover

This was the most entertaining quest I've encountered so far

Yeah I just had to lead a guy to a group of cannibals, but I couldn't go through with it, so I killed them all.

I know what you mean, but Im going a power hungry mage route.

I like that they made more variations in dialoge, like you can often answer nice or more snobby, and the npc will respond according to it. It doesnt seem to affect the results though.

I do miss the excellent reputation/faction system from FO New Vegas though. I guess that system limits the story in the game and would take focus from the dragons and all.

There's a rep system of sorts, it's just not as prominent. I was attacked by an orc and when I killed him I got the message that I was now disliked by some orc tribe. I think the orc attacking me was a bug because when I reloaded again he wasn't there and I was able to deal with the orcs normally.
