The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Been watching videos about the dragons and how they interact with the world. It seems awesome!! Can't wait to get this tomorrow. The GF is sick right now so I'm seeing Skyrim in my future all weekend long :D

Very tempted to get it. I played Morrowind or one of the others a long time back and it was so buggy and ****ty that I never finished it. This looks good, but I hope it's more stable than the last one I played.

I'm having a tough time getting into Oblivion. I've had similar problems with all Elder Scrolls games. I'm hoping Oblivion will be more enjoyable than Daggerfall or Morrowind were.

Solo, I KNOW something is good whenever I see you bitching about it.

Staring at the DVD install box because I haven't had a chance yet to do anything with it due to a stupid database fault for the last two hours that has me on an emergency phone bridge to get it all up and running again.. GAHHHHHHH!!!!

How is the game so far? Im considering purchasing it, but not sure yet. I loved Oblivion, but kinda iffy since I already waisted money on a crappy game this week

I'm loving it! I'm going very heavy with magic, destruction particuarly so I can throw two fisted lightning bolts!!

I always go mage, and I love that you can go double handed in this game, since you can go battlemage with destruction spells in left hand and a good sword in the other.

Ive got level 4 now and I love the game. Morrowind is one of my all time fav games, but the vibe in this is very very nice also. It feels like you can really make your char any way you like.

The game deseves all the positive reviews!

I wasn't bitching about Oblivion, man. Read more closely. Also, long as we're talking about bitching about this or that, nice to meet you, Kettle. I'm Pot. ;)

I actually found Oblivion to be fun, but overwhelming. It seemed a marked improvement over Morrowind, in that the game felt more...I dunno...alive? I tend to play games like that as a completist, but with TES games, that's REALLY hard because they're just do damn big. I'll likely get back to Oblivion at some point, but I still have a bunch of the Fallout 3 DLC to finish.

My one question re: Skyrim is for the PC players. I've heard it's got some really awful menus and seems very much a dumbed down console port at least in terms of the controls (raphics I've heard are amazing, though). Is that true?

Killed my second dragon today!! I'm level 8. Still loving this game and obviously there is so much to do. I strongly advise anyone who enjoyed oblivion to grab this one. I really like this storyline!

Lv10, I've got.. err.. three dragons down, I think (including the first one that's part of the story). I came across one guarding a dragon wall, took me two tries. The giants helped a little, since the dragon was stupid enough to land near them and try to roast one of their mammoths. I had one random dragon appear just outside of Falkreath, landed right next to me. Only that time I had a sword that healed me +5 every time I landed a blow, so it was slicey-dicey time. One of the town guards put a couple arrows into it, and after the fight he's walking back to the village complaining about how he's stuck on guard duty and nothing exciting ever happens.

That reminds me of another guard I saw. He walks past me and comments on my one-handed weapons. He says "Ah, you're like me.. can't stand those clunky two-handed weapons". And guess what he's wearing on his back? A two-handed great axe. Yeah.

The crazy part is that I've been playing the game for almost 14 hours and I've only visited two of the big cities and a couple of the smaller villages. I've cleared maybe ten dungeons out of 150+. Only two (non-story) dragons killed. Three shouts, only one of them has two words. Still wearing mostly steel armor with one or two iron pieces. I haven't even replaced the basic iron "Dovahkiin helmet" yet, I haven't found a steel one and I haven't leveled my smithing high enough to make one. Or even to make steel, for that matter. In other words, 14 hours and I've barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer.

Oh, and it runs like a dream, and while the overall graphics aren't as technically impressive as other recent games, the art direction makes it visually amazing in every respect. And I've seen some screenshots that are downright jaw-dropping, of places that I can't wait to see myself.

This one's a shoo-in for RPG of the year, and a strong contender for game of the year, IMO.

CRAP!!!!! I'm nearly level 15 and haven't even SEEN a dragon yet!!!!!!
Mind you...i've been so steeped in side quests and Dark Brotherhodd stuff....maybe i've yet to activate them via the main quest...?
