The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

God dangit!!!!! I got my Glock today, and they sent me the wrong frakkin' one! :angry I got the one with the black on the slide, and mine wasn't supposed to. :angry I'll take some pics. here tonight, but frak me. :angry Three for three on me buying Glocks. It's a very nice replica, but the slide isn't the one I ordered. :angry :cry

So now I'll proboly have to get PayPal involved.

One realy strange thing...They has also just dipped the first half inch of the thing in yellow (lead) paint. I'm sure it was to get through customs, but it struck me funny that they just dipped it. And the paint came right off with water.

Have you tried removing the slide and painting it yourself? I'd get Testors metallizers paint. Lay it on in light coats then after several coats buff it out. You'll get a metal look and depending how many layers depth like real metal too. Use the stuff in the bottle not the rattle can. Not knocking the rattle can but I always seem to get better results using an airbrush with light coats. Nothing fancy I just got a cheap on at walmart with the canned air. Just make sure you get the buffing kind as they do have non-buffable.

I might try painting it, but I alos might end up just re-selling it. It's realy nice as it, and I don't want to screw it up, LOL.

EDIT - I don't have it on hand, but allegedly, the slide is entirly metal. So I wonder if they've just painted the black on. I wonder if I can sand it off and polish it,etc...

Other than it not being silver, it does look like a really nice replica.

How much did it end up costing you after shipping?

And how is the weight of it? How does it break down?

I'm contemplating getting one just for the fun of it.

And at least they didn't take the markings off.

It was $100 after shipping. It's fairly heavy, my dad remarked that it felt like a firearm he used to own, and he realy liked it.

Here's a couple pics from a party I was at on Friday. B89's scars are amazing! The stretch and move with your facial expressions. Very very happy with them. Thanks again man.

I wish I had 'em for Halloween, but I'll make due! :p

And here yesterday I was asked to help a lady's son I know put together a Joker costume for *drum roll*

Thursday. So I got him a light blue shirt and black pinstripe pants from Sears, a Stafford tie from JCP, and a Tripp coat from my closet. I'm going tomorro to help him practive a make-up app. But this has showed me one thing...I should stick to my own projects, and I don't think I want to move into any make-up/costume design. :lol I like keeping to myself is what I'm trying to say. :lol I like being able to go through ref pics. see what I'm talking about, and thinking about it myself. :lol

Glad you guys are happy with them! I will soon be offering the same sculpt in flesh latex as well and I'm going to be crackin' down on my DeVito Penguin after Halloween. I'm just SO busy doing stuff for this Friday...!

Just got back from doing my little introduction to Joker make-up class. :p And I can honestly say I had a realy good time. And the dude was VERY happy to have his costume, and it made me feel realy good to be a part of that. He was so excited, the look in his eye was outstanding. And he kept looking over at me like he couldn't beleive it was me. It was an outstanding experience!
I decided to show him a very basic design for the scars, just the shape, pretty much. No LL, or collodion, etc. Considering he only had until Thursday, he's on a pretty big time restraint.

After leaving his house, we drove around down town while I stuck my head out the window and freaked people out. Quite a few people honked at me, waved, smiled, etc. One person pretty much ran a red light to get away from me. :p

So anyway, 4 hours showing him how to do the basic stuff, throwing my head around for an hour or so in rain going 40 MPH, you're left with this. :

And EXCELLENT news today...

I GET TO BE IN THE BACK OF A POLICE CRUISER IN THE HALLOWEEN PARADE THE 31ST!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I'll deffintly take some pics! :D

As far as getting that done...My dad knows the Chief of Police, so it all sorta fell into place. :p
I just got done for today, a grand total of 14 hours and change in war paint....Deffintly not my favorite application I've done, but it's ok. I'm still kicking myself for not having appliances for this year.

One story stands out from today, which would be from the land of Wal-Mart. A kid walked by me and said "Oh..The Joker!" he turned and said "Uh, why-so-serious?" he turned back around laughing to his dad. So I turned around, grabbed him by the waist, and turned him around about 3 times and told him the wife scar story while I pulled him down the main isle. He just kept looking at me while he made a nervous chuckle. I know I got pretty loud during some of it because I was told I could be heard from quite far away. :lol

So here I am towards the very end. I'm not happy with the scars, but oh well. No one complained about it.
