The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

So how many her plan to redo there Joker from last year? I put a cheaper version but pulled it off so I plan to do it again. It's not CON quality for me but works for Halloween.

I'm shooting for a fully finished costume for next year's Halloween. :lol (And if I loose enough weight, I've already got 2011's costume planned as well. :lol)

I'm going as Bank Heist Joker W/make-up this year, one event I was going to do got cancelled, so now I'm open to do something else Halloween night. I beleive my dad is going to ask a local Cheif of Police if I can ride in the back of a police cruiser in the Halloween parade. I realy hope this comes through, as I'd love to be able to do that. :D

Hard to beleive I did 5 new costumes overall last year, and not one this year. :lol (I'm upgrading two of them, TDK suit Joker and Nurse Joker though...)

B89- Got my scars in the mail. They look amazing! Can't wait to use them for Halloween. Cool package they came in too. Very Joker(I'll throw up a pic). Thanks for the instructions too.

Got my Telesis 5 adhesive in the mail as well.

Bleyd, I'm wearing my Joker again. Between work and another art project, I haven't had time I'd like to devote to another costume. But, these new scars and my new shoes will be a sweet uprade. :)

Glad you like bud. Telesis 5 is PERFECT for these. Take your time with them and the result should be FANTASTIC! Be very careful in taking them off as well and they'll be reusable over and over again. Telesis remover will take them off quickly, cleanly and safely. Make sure you have a remover for the Telesis before you glue anything to yourself with it!

Sweet, I went ahead and got the remover with my adhesive. Good to hear.

Also, do you need much of a blending compound for the edges, like a smooth on skin tite product or is it not really needed?

Thanks again. I'll try and get some pics up of them soon.

I just had some pics from another buyer of these scars who had GREAT results and said he didn't have any Skin Tite on hand. He said he'd chime in here eventually and put up his pics. The edges should be good if you take your time in application.

Nah... I think it's been done to death and time to let it rest for a few years.

Mine wasn't of the quality of the people on here... but compared to what other's did last year I think mine was pretty darn good... and everyone else agreed. Some people had nothing to say but expletives that I cannot repeat on here.

Can you use medical adhesive like with foam latex or do you need something very specific for these?

I'm duin mine. Yeah there were a few but nothing even close to the level here and even though mine isn't up to MY/OUR standards it blew everyone elses away. I have someone duin a penguin and a Bane as well as my henchmen.

I just got an email from a buyer who used Pros-Aide adhesive, now I've never heard of this being used with silicone prosthetics, in fact I'd advised against it to another member as I wasn't positive but apparently it worked fine.

And speaking of Penguin, I'm in the process of doing a DeVito Penguin prosthetic. It will be run in foam rubber but I won't be able to finish the sculpt until after halloween as I'm booked makeup wise.

I will be able to make more Joker scars if anyone's interested however. email me woody21288(at)yahoo(dot)com

Darth Gordon, what do you mean done to death? Like other people doing it? I don't think that many people do. I meen, not overall. Last year evryone said "Oh Lord, evryone's going as the Joker this year, they're gonna be evrywhere on Halloween", etc. But logicaly speaking, we don't all live in the same town. :lol

Anyone looking for a "medium tier" tie and gloves? :

EDIT -

Excellent news that makes me nervous.....My Glock and magazine is about to be on it's way. :D Or as they put it " You order have been packing, and 3-5 days will send to Custom to process, and we will send your tracking no. to you later, if you have any question please contact us"

I plan on re-doing mine, but not this year, maybe next. I ordered a bunch of stuff last year and had to use all my back up stuff because the stuff I really wanted didn't come in time, so I held off on buying some things

Well, not talking about us here. But there were a lot of them last year. Granted, only about 2 % of them were any good... I would imagine all of those were done by people on here. Many people didn't pay attention to the clothes and just slapped on the make-up... assuming it would be an easy costume :rolleyes

But for me... I've done three different Jokers in the last 6 years (my God, where does the time go :confused). I've done a comic book version, Jack's and then Ledger's. I think it's time I've put the Joker away for a few years.

But I wish you the best of luck... and I'm sure you guys will out do not only everyone else out there, but yourselves from last year.

I still don't think overall there were alot of them. :p

I got my gloves and tie here today, and the tie is absoutly excellent. But the gloves are to big in the wrist and in the palm. So now I need to look into the boiling method. And that makes me extremly nervous, LOL.

Ahh, talking to evryone, now I'm afraid to boil my gloves. Mabey just the back of them to tighten up the wrist area.....

I'm no expert, so I don't know what will happen when you boil them. What I DO know, though, is that it will look very silly if half of your gloves look "different" and the other half doesn't. Even if boiling ends up changing the color, I would personally rather have my gloves at least be homogenously changed.

If the back was diffrent from the front in color do you think I'd leave the entire glove that way? :wacko

um..didnt know if anyones found this but this seems to be the company that made the jokers scars for the dark knight. You cant buy them. all they have is expensive how-to manual things. the website is siliconeprosthetics.com
and in a preview of one of the how to manuals they have pictures like these...

Just a heads up for folks that don't troll the junkyard as often as I do. I just found out that there are several yards of my purple pinstripe fabric available and have started an interest thread to see how much I should grab while it still exists. This may be it for Joker pants from me as purple pinstripe isn't as easy to track down as you think it would be.

I came pretty close to being sick myself, my nose is running this morning, but I made the party here last night by the skin of my teeth. :wacko I literaly just ran out of time. I started a bit late, so I knew I'd have to rush towards the end. And with only like 15 mins. to go, I hadn't applied my black or red. (Which when I do it slowly takes me about 25 mins. So I ended up rushing both.)

I'll be the first to say, I hate the black around me eyes. Enspecialy around the outsides of them. It was also my first time using transfers, so that made me nervous that I was going to screw one side up, or the other. And naturaly, one didn't take right. The one, one lets see...My Left. The short one. I applied it, and the area around my mouth didn't even stick to my face. So I pushed it down realy hard and it stuck more that it was. So I'm sorta dissapointed with that one.

And as I expected, once the scars are applied, it makes it hard to scrunch up your face properly. So when I do those again, I'll be sure to fine tune the eyes before I apply them. Man, I just realy wish the black on the eyes woud of came out like I did last time. :(

I wish they would of been more like this :

EDIT - I also beleive the scars are just a bit to big for my face.
