Does anyone have any idea what I am seeing underneath the collar of his coat?

When I zoom in the original, there is some sort of pattern there, almost checkerboard like.

I'd like to see the larger image myself. Without seeing more, I'm guessing that you're seeing the underbelly of the cloth due to the distressing.

I'm guessing it's the collar felt you're seeing. Some brands have a kind of weird waffle texture to it. You've seen this right Indy?

For the layman reading and wondering what I'm talking about, this is just something alot of suits use on the underside of the collar to give it more heft.

Here's the best cap I could get of the grenade harness for those of you that are adding that to the costume. Looks like a standard fragmentation grenade, a few of the round ones and one of the canister style blast grenades?

I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found the sunflower button. 3 on a card for $1.50. So I picked them up.

I can't really say what he's seeing without seeing the larger photo. It could be the felt sticking out... :confused Need to see the photo.

Was it white or did you have to paint yours from a differant color? Mine was yellow.

It looked to me like the paint had been worn off the screen used piece, revealing the white plastic underneath. You can see what looks like yellow in the indentation grooves, such as the face and around the pedal looking things around the edges.

...that is assuming they are painted and not cast in yellow plastic.

After finding mine I assumed they painted the dime AND the flower. Kinda weird the dime got paint too. Looks to me like it casted though with the small bubbles on the petals. LOVE this picture BTW. Anyone planning on seeing TDK on IMAX in January?

Here's a find. It's a really good color and stripe setting match. The only "if" being that it is linen and I'm pretty sure the screen used is wool. I should be hearing back midweek on another source, but in case they fall through... What's the consensus here? Is the lesser of two evils painting stripes on purple wool or going with the alternate fabric?

That actually looks really good to me.
I've never really dug the idea of painted stripes.

Well, its a coin. Specifically, a 1944 liberty wing head dime.

Cheapest place I've found it and alot easier than BUYING the coin and making your own button. They're still real ones too. All you need to do is paint it that copper color which is easy enough.

anyone find a 4 way stretch fabric like this? I have a pair without stripes and it makes SO much easier to move around and allows you to go a size smaller than normal as well.

Yeah, I think we're just seeing the rope stitching on the felt under the collar.
