The Book of Boba Fett

I think Rodriguez is a problem and I also think Morrison’s inclusion dictated to a point what the character would be like. I didn’t say Morrison was to blame for any technical shortcomings, and his acting is fine I just don’t think he’s the character he could be.
So, where do you think the blame lays? You could have the greatest actor of all time in that suit with the greatest director as well and if the character is not written the way we think he should be, then it will leave people complaining or scratching their heads, especially a character that we've already seen before. I'm just saying this because most of the complaints i've seen are pretty consistent. We wondered where the direction Boba was going and it feels weird right? It's not the Boba we know. Tem not being Boba and Rodriguez not directing him WILL NOT change that fact one iota.

I said in the beginning...this is the very problem that is unavoidable when you choose to wait 39 years to bring back a character from the "apparent" death. I personally, am ok with Boba dying in the Sarlacc.(doesn't mean i'm right). But i made a choice to watch the series. He's alive now, and not the same. That is not any directors fault or the actors. I personally like Tem as Boba(doesn't mean i'm right). Personally, adding the Pykes, Nightwind
and other factions that i know very little about obviously bores me. I like the Tuskens, Jawas, Mandos, Jedi and Sith. Why? Because it's comfort food.
I prefer it over take out or fast food. So, no matter what the directing is or who the actors are, whoever is delivering the doordash or grubhub, if it's not the food i ordered or wanted, i'm not buying it.

BTW, i'm not disagreeing with you in totality...believe me, i have a ton of complaints but i'm trying to be as patient as all of you.
I will leave you with ONE thing that really bothered me...The different colored scooters(The whole group, bikes included) even being on the show in the first place and especially being in the same scene as the BK...It cheapened that character in my view. When i boil down to my biggest beefs with the episode, not a single one of them i can lay at the feet of Mr. Rodriguez or Tem. All i keep saying is, why did they write that in? Why did they make that look that way...it doesn't feel like Star Wars to me.

The acting, directing, story and writing seem to be getting worse with each episode. Morrison is really not cut out for this. The biker gang (or whatever that was supposed to be) and a number of other elements just didn't feel Star Wars at all to me. They felt like generic filler, as though they could've easily been in any number of other universes. Disney & Lucasfilm can do much better. Hopefully they will.
I agree to your points with the exception of Tem. He is easily cut out out for this and actually looked in better physical shape this episode. The graph would look like a triangle right now as there has only been 3 episodes. As far as things getting worse, if it were a whole week and Sunday was ugh, Monday was good and Tuesday was back to ugh would you tell people the week is getting worse or would you expect that Wednesday might be another good one? lol...just trying to encourage you. If next week is a bummer i might be in panic mode...lol

Great...So not only is it Rodriguez' fault for the character of Boba, now Tem is at fault too? We can't seem to get it right who the REAL blame is. I suppose if we follow the yellow brick road back to Emerald city we will find who Really is behind the curtain.
Morrison I think is an amazing actor and has awesome teeth.. actors are directed.. i blame direction over Morrison

hahah...awesome teeth, No one would have the charisma to do this version of Boba that was written for him like Tem has...He is not the problem(great actor..agreed). Nobody got on Mark Hamill's case for TLJ...or on Pedro's case for having a stunt double. Tem is doing his job the best way possible.

If you haven't already, try to watch Once Were Warriors. Its his first big film role I think. Its from 94 so you can probably find it for free on Amazon or YouTube.

So I rewatched BOBF and visually... I think I may have stumbled onto something.
I just rewatched Ep3
The Camera Angles looked fine, nice use of rule of thirds in Jabbas Palace, very SW vibes..
The fight scene looked better on the second watch.
Cut to The Hutts and Again it looked pretty decent with The huge iconic Palace doors as a backdrop.
Mos Espa looked grand under the Twin Suns bursting with life even the Vespa kids scooter chase including shot of behind the building lol looked much better.

So my point....
Everything looks better on a Big screen, you see more you take in more.
Right.. How do directors view their pre release ?
In a Big arse screener room!
It looks great blown up but just too condensed/Crammed for TV and it should have been a Theatrical Movie instead.
This doesn’t make up for the story...maybe GL should have had more of an influence?

By the way the end of this scene...

My issue with Tem is less with his acting ability, I actually really enjoy him in films usually, and more to do with how much they're turning Boba Fett into Temura than they are attempting to turn Temura into Boba.
As discussed earlier in this thread, boba has a very clear established character prowess within the universe in how others treat him and he treated others, even if that was in small, quick, though very significant ways.

The even bigger issue is that character has yet to show up in his own show, and yet seemingly did briefly show up in TM S2

Mark’s performance was great in TLJ, and the character had an arc whether people liked that arc or not. With BOBF I feel like a gunslinger went into the pit and somebody’s goofy dad came out. If I liked Boba Fett like some people do I would be increasingly put off by this portrayal.

Am I going to put my foot in my mouth?

Going to politely disagree about Morrison. He's never really been a great actor (as far as Ive seen) and physically doesn't resemble Boba Fett in ROTJ. Even 5 years post ROTJ. He's supposed to have been living a rough intense life in the desert with a warrior tribe as well. When it comes down to it though I can look past the physical & aesthetics, but the acting/writing/directing are really difficult to ignore. Particular elements of the show have been done well, some of which I've pointed out in previous posts.

I've been generally trying to stay positive about BOBF and agree with your previous sentiments about such things. With that said it's fair for people to be able to express disappointment, make criticisms and even joke about a show. We all won't always be on the same page which is ok. Going over the top with it and repeatedly bashing a show are completely unnecessary though. If this were a 12-20 episode series I'd be less concerned that its not going particularly well 3 episodes in. Maybe they'll turn it around in episode 4. All hope is not lost. :)
