The Book of Boba Fett

I thought both of Howard’s episodes were pretty blah although I agree her second was better than the first.

So is Favreau *not* directing an episode this season? I thought I read he was.
As far as I know he’s just writing most of the series. That was the list of directors I saw confirmed online. It’s a shame because The Marshal is one of the best episodes of Mandalorian.

Fair enough. It just seems like the scar was one of his defining physical attributes in the comics. I guess I’m wondering “they did such a great job realizing everything else about him, why take out the scar?”

I see his scar, though it's not as noticable as should be.

Just a thought..
There's a big shift in responsibility ATM to not use Scars on villains in the Media as it can be seen to be detrimental to kids with facial issues, which is a good thing in my book to address if that's what they have done.
It can be a contributing factor to bullying at school and online..
I am not saying this is the case but maybe a reason for the toning down ?

So, i've purposed in my heart not to complain so i'm gonna TRY to just ask questions this week. I've found i learn a lot more in life when i ask questions then when i complain and i tell you what....i can win a complaining contest with anyone hands down...lol.

My question/questions:

If most of our complaints or the complaints being posted are about the character of Boba as he stands now, and Favreau is writing the series episodes, then why are we putting so much emphasis on who's directing it each week?

Who is ultimately responsible for the writing of the character of Boba Fett and his arc?

It almost looks like a tuft of hair right above his eye, near the bridge of his nose, is combed back, covering a large scar.

And I agree, Favreau/Filoni bear some blame if they’re writing this stuff. I’m def interested to watch this episode tonight. Lol

See, I'm not seeing ANYTHING that says they don't know each other. Boba even refers to him being a gladiator when he first appeared with the twins, showing that he knew at least some of his backstory. They were both hired by Vader to do a job, but nothing in that says they have a relationship like Boba & Fennec. Their existence was loyalty to whoever was paying them. Not each other.
Right. Not saying they are buddies. Far from it. But the level of familiarity is discordant.

Boba clearly knows BK’s name and that he spent time in the Xonti Bros.’ gladiator pits. And from the comics, Boba knows first-hand that BK is no slouch in the bounty-hunting department. No problem there.

But when he lets BK go free, he tells him “No hard feelings; it’s just business. Take it from an ex-bounty hunter - don’t work for skug-holes. It’s not worth it.”

Boba’s talking to BK as if the latter is some rookie who hasn’t learned the ropes yet. They are very seasoned peers; Boba knows that BK doesn’t need this stuff mansplained to him.

Finished my second watch and I just cant get get over how, AFTER ALMOST GETTING ******* KILLED, he comes downstairs in a Robe in the middle of a conflict rather than wearing armor.. carrying a ******* gun.. literally anything to gain a tactical advantage over the goddamn Sasquatch that just rando appeared in his bedroom...

Maybe it's just me. It isn't the greatest photo. But I see two scars. I tried to brighten it and point them out. I don't if that helps.

Yeah its like a combe over but its there..even Bounty Hunters can be vain.
He really is a Bad looking MF..
I hope its not the last we see of him and Maybe just maybe he will Pay it forward.

That could be a reason. I don't know, his whole head shape seems quite different from comics.

Same here. I don't keep up with the comics, so I'm not really familiar with him. But I still want to see more.

Yeah, they were like "water is expensive" and "we don't have jobs" but yet they were going around in shiny new colorful Vespas.
If it was a Lambretta I'd have been more onboard with it !...but seriously Why so slow and what was with the stuttery camera edits!

The thing that's getting me is that they're not being consistent, or at least definitively telling us, just how much Boba currently holds and how much Jabba held. In ep, 1 & 2 Boba is referred to or refers to himself alternately as the Daimyo of Tattooine and the Daimyo of Mos Espa. Then in ep .3 he's suggesting that he only controls Mos Espa when he tells the Power Rangers (I think it was them) to go to Mos Eisley if they don't like the way things are in Mos Espa. So what is Boba and what was Jabba the Daimyos of? Just Mos Espa or all of Tattooine?

Honestly I don't have any complaints with the the writing. It's just each director seems to be able to pull different stuff out of a script. And the two that Robert has directed, they just feel flat. Like even Temuera's acting feels different from episode 2.

So rather than creating/writing characters who have facial scarring, but are instead presented from a ‘good place’ of which to look up to and normalize it, their logic is to have their characters physically transform to become.. ‘prettier’ ‘by removing/lessening/hiding said scarring effects? Which is something said children often cant do..

Sorry, but the logic doesn’t flow for me and if anything would come across to me as even More insulting from its virtue signaling

Theres plenty of media today with beloved characters who have significant scarring yet aren’t “bad guys”
