The Book of Boba Fett

I noticed one interesting nod to the prequels. Boba's robe after he and the wookie slip and slide fight is based off a Jedi tunic with no tabbards and extra long. It has the same shoulder tuck and sleeves design.

I think the bike gang were an attempt at what George tried to do with hot rods in AotC. As far as the chase goes, it DID seen like it was shot kind of clunky, but it felt like a tribute to Back to the Future to me, including the 'bad guy' sliding sideways into the cart & the way the fruit spilled into the speeder.

As one person already noted, Rodriguez has a history of either hyper violent, stylized films, or, kiddie superhero movies. I'm not hating on him as the choice to head the project because at the end of the day, although I'm old & have spent thousands of dollars in this franchise, I recognize that SW IS a kiddie superhero franchise at it's heart. Just because I chose to donate my time & money to it, doesn't mean it owes me anything or I should expect it to grow up, just because I did. That's MY choice.

With the twins & Krrsantan, if we follow the pattern of The Mandalorian, there's no way they're gone for good. Krrsantan & Boba have a history of working together, this time though, they were on opposite sides, but I believe both understand the 'It's just business' part of the life they live.

I know I'm an old man here, but the biggest problem I had with the gang, is one of the real world issues I have...

These kids are supposed to be sympathetic I assume? The "We have to steal necessities of life because the system is against us. There's no work & big, bad business charges too much, so we're justified in our crime" BS. YET, just as in the real world, there's money for cars, phones, designer clothes, etc, these losers have credits for bikes, bike upgrades, & droid part replacement surgeries that they brag about the expense of.

Infuriating in the real world & completely unsympathetic to me here.

I haven’t watched the episode yet, but I’m not really surprised by the way the biker gang looks, or their motivations. They’re kids, they prioritize cool stuff and keeping what they have looking good. It looks like any XYZ hobby that kids/young adults have. Hot rodded cars, fixed gear bikes, skateboards etc. It’s interesting to me to see some “youth culture” in Star Wars because when you think about it there really isn’t much of it throughout the franchise.

OK, so we have Boba’s Baker Street Irregulars. A little goofy, but I’m willing to keep an open mind.

And Danny Trejo, so you knew Rodriguez directed. But that’s OK because Danny Trejo is awesome in pretty much everything he does.

But two questions:

1.) Based on the comics, Boba has a history with BK - via Jabba, no less - and knows that he (BK) is a very accomplished bounty hunter in his own right. Why did Boba talk to him like they were strangers and that BK is a novice who needed some “sage advice”?

2.) Were the Dune Sea Tuskens completely wiped out? The pile of bodies seemed too small to be the entire tribe. I think we saw the chieftan’s body on the ground, right? But we didn’t see the warrior woman or the kid, did we? Meaning they might have escaped? I’m uncertain because wasn’t that the kid’s training gaffi that Boba threw on the pyre? Or was it something else?

Agree with you on krrsantan.. didn’t make sense

And tuskens
I saw the chiefs body, but didn’t see the woman or the child. I think the child’s stick sense was to symbolize he was in the pile of bodies
that’s how I took it

Yeah, that’s what I was unsure about. Did they not want to show a dead kid, but still get the message across that he had been killed?

Until I saw the stick, I really was expecting that the woman saved the kid and fled, and we would see them both again. Now, I’m not sure.

I actually thought that scene was sad

One big issue I have is its way too short. Both this episode and the first were cut quite abruptly. The pacing and length of episode 2 I thought was fine however.
Agreed. This episode is yet another example of where Favreau & Co. need to slow their roll and give an ep a few extra minutes so the major story beats have time to breathe.

The slaughter of the Tuskens seemed like it came too early in this overall story, and not enough time was spent “taking it in” after it happened. Like they rushed to get to it and through it, so they could move on to “cooler” stuff.

Also, is it just me, or does it seem weird that some swoop gang could so easily wipe out this entire tribe? The Tuskens were not belligerent, but they weren’t “babes in the woods,” either. They clearly knew how to take care of themselves. If they had to get slaughtered to move the plot along, fine. But I would have expected them to put up a good fight. Some dead Nikto strewn among the devastation, for example.

What about the fight scene what did you guys think of that?
I wasn't watching it in the best of rooms but it seemed very dark in that scene... I did see Boba getting his Ass kicked again and again...

There were some interesting moments some bad moments and I think I lent on the remote at some point as I swear I was watching Lazy Town!

Seconded but think a certain character may not be in that scene ;)
