The Book of Boba Fett

Great episode. I’m really impressed by how they ride the line of it feeling fresh yet familiar. I think it’s because Jon and Dave like using the influences that inspired Star Wars, so the western/samurai feel really works without feeling like they are copying anything from a previous movie.
To give credit where credit is due is good...and Steph Green, who directed it deserves A LOT of credit as well. She did a great job and this episode felt clearly different(in a very good way).

Yeah, I agree. The Robert Rodriguez episode felt stiff and flat, and not just by comparison to this episode. I don’t really know how he got involved in these shows, but I hope he doesn’t return.

I don't claim to be an expert on writing and directing. I imagine it in this analogy.
Like being on an episode of Chopped. Here's your basket ingredients( the Writing) . Now take this ingredients and turn it into a 5 star dish that is prepared well, tastes great and looks good on the plate.(Directing)( Not an easy venture). I've tried it at home...lol. I'm not gonna trash Robert because i definitely can't do what he does...but i will say the Plate of food Steph Green gave us was great and the basket ingredients were great as well. I hope in simplifying this to my understanding doesn't disrespect any of you out there that might have experience in this field because i have zero experience. What a fantastic episode!!! I knew it would get better..very exciting now.

Sadly he’s directing 2 more episodes. Meanwhile Steph recently won an Emmy for an episode of Watchman she directed. We’ll see how it goes. Just hoping for the best.

I just don’t see what credentials he’s got that justify him being involved when there are plenty of people, both knowns and unknowns, that are much better at his job. I mean, sure, he’s made such classic films like the Spy Kids movies and Shark Boy and Lava Girl, but…I don’t really see how that translates to these shows. Especially after the first two seasons of Mandalorian. There were plenty of episodes that were great and I’d wholeheartedly support the directors of those episodes getting their own thing. He’s not quite the last director of an episode I would hand a show over to (that honor goes to Bryce Dallas Howard), but he is low on the list. His episode of the Mandalorian felt like a medium budget fan film, and the first episode of this show did too.

While this series isn't garnering my attention the same way Mando did, I do love the fleshing out of the Tuskens and hope to see who else shows up.

Black Krrsantan was definitely a highlight, and he looked wicked!

There were so many great lines too...and funny..Tem looked like he had a blast. Nothing really caught my attention as inherently out of place except a phillips head screwdriver...lol, hope that's not a major spoiler..lol..anyways...this was a real treasure of an episode.

Man i loved that Conductor droid, such cool ideas going on there. Also, you could still tell that Ithorian was voiced by Pedro, but they did pitch it to sound less like him than it did in the trailers.

Im guessing some of that dancing at the end came from Tem's Maori culture?

I didnt quite get that bit about needing permission to kill a Hutt. From who? Leia didnt need permission lol

I actually got goosebumps at multiple points in the episode, especially the last scene.
It makes me wonder if some Star Wars fans who are also HEMA, and other weapons based martial arts, practitioners are going to take what we saw of the Tsuekn gaffi stick fighting techniques and expand upon it to create a full fledged fighting system. The last scene gives enough to create at least one kata or form while the training sense prior should provide a base to start with. Add in techniques from European and Asian staff techniques and you have something that might work. It could be called TTMA or Traditional Tusken Martial Arts. :D

I have a MAJOR spoiler to reveal about the Finale Cameo reveal at the end of the season..The phone call has already been made and received with acceptance(Joking)

I would think that being the Daimyo of Tatooine he now has to follow underworld rules, there may be a council of higher ups that a hit would have to be approved by. Something I assume is unlikely due to the nature of his claim while there are true heirs to the Hutt clan out there, and surely loyalists to their cause.

every time that tusken kid runs across the screen all I can think about is...remember when Anakin.....
Maybe it is Anakin.
Well a Clone of... Palpatin did create him after all and he does like a replication or two lol

Regarding the permission…

I’m assuming its something similar to The Godfather where the crime lords have an understanding and tentative peace. Like they all run their own operations and stay out of each other’s way. As things pop up, such as disturbances, they try to come to an agreement on how to handle it so their arrangement stays intact. Someone doing whatever they want without agreement could be seen as going rogue and thus a threat to any of the other crime lords.

Leia wasn’t part of this world and was just defending herself. So this is the type of thing that specifically focuses on how the crime lords treat each other.
