I am hooked with this as well! I wouldn’t have thought it either, when watching them and especially now with this episode, they have a very “Native American” feel to meI really like the second episode.The culture of the tusken is a great story...but I often think...why the hell they did that with Anakins mother?
I know George made them more animal then human...and this series wants to show a deeper look...but its always in my mind.
The Tusken warrior that trained Boba is a great actor.He has a good bodyspeaking.
But overall a great second episode.
I really enjoy watching them, plus my family all sign so sign language in Star Wars is freakn great, love it

The chieftain said that “other tribes resorted to killing” in order to survive. The subtext was that Shmi’s Tusken tribe was one of those, and Boba’s tribe is less belligerent. I am guessing the black robes are meant to demonstrate that these Tusken are different than the ones we’ve seen before.
Pretty sure that’s supposed to be a Tusken woman. And the actor listed in the credits is a woman, too.

Maybe? But based on what Garza said, as well as their own little edict on that hinged-tablet thingy, I got the impression that this was supposed to be their first time laying claim.

Kroenen77 The Tusken chief explains that there are many tribes, some of them who kill, others like theirs who hide to survive. The tribe who took Shmi seems to have been of the former, and we also don’t know why they took her and what they truly did to her other than it eventually leading to her death.
I don’t really have any feeling a about Cammie and Fixer, because if you don’t know who they are then it doesn’t matter they’re just more civilians being harassed by the gang. If you are in the know then it’s a cameo of minimal impact.
squirk this may be the first time they needed to lay claim officially if Bib was a puppet ruler for them. Once he’s gone they have to openly declare their claim since a pretender is on the throne.

You have to remember that is just one tribe/group of Tuskens, it's implied in this episode that not all Tuskens are the same culturally. While they all dress similarly and share some common traits, I don't think that they're all the same. Some are probably more aggressive than others while others probably prefer to avoid as much contact with outsiders as possible.I really like the second episode.The culture of the tusken is a great story...but I often think...why the hell they did that with Anakins mother?

I think you are probably right, or at least very close, but if Jabba was such a Big Dog, and his syndicate was so vast, I’d be surprised that any Hutt (or the Hutt Council, for that matter) would let a puppet run the show.
I certainly got that impression watching them interact..

Kylash what is the source for that map? The show is playing things pretty fast and loose geographically from the looks of things so far. I definitely don’t remember Mos Espa looking like a huge canyon in TPM
squirk maybe Jabba’s seat was powerful relative to its location in the outer rim, but on the grand scheme was still just one of many seats the cartel as a whole are holding. Nal Hutta most likely being the supreme seat of power for them since it’s their home world. We see so much Jabba because of the frequency of Tatooine in our heroes’ stories, and he just happens to be the guy Han crosses.

There are a few out there but most resemble this one. Its on Wookipedia.
