i've worked in retail management for 23 years and i can tell you that since the sequel trilogy the marketing has been horrendous ....talk about missing the boat and letting all the steam run out before stuff comes out and then when it does, the quantities are terrible and end up way over priced on ebay...the collectors are willing to pay the prices but the kids end up with very little toys...far different when i was a kid and we can thank Lucas for recognizing where the money was back then that allowed him to finance the other films. Even the prequels had a ton of toys.Probably coming in Q4 2023. Armored BOBF Boba in 6" Black Series doesn't come out until spring 2023.![]()
Greef Karga??? Gooood.....Grief!!!! lol..I love Carl Weathers, he's awesome!Tell me about it. I've been collecting the occasional 6" figure and retail scarcity is totally a thing. Also annoyed by the retailer exclusives.
Hasbro is doing a line of "Droids" animated series figures in the classic 1980s colors and the Boba Target exclusive "pre order" sold out in about 1/10'th of a second. Annoying. In my area there hasn't been a new Star Wars figure on the shelf in like 6 months. Except for Greef Karga. That guy just can't catch a break. But at least he's keeping the pegs warm.![]()
Very well explained1: What Boba learned was ALSO... how to break stormtrooper armor apart with a Gaffi stick! Now, keeping in mind the guy crawled out of an acid filled flesh bag in a twin sunned desert after being submerged for who knows how long... he was in pretty rough shape. And when you look at the majority of the canon resources (movies and Clone Wars animated), Boba is a weapons guy, not a melee guy. Maybe he needed to learn some technique?
2: To me, Jabba was a steel glove. An obvious threat and something to be feared. Oh, you disagree? Click, you end up in the rancor pit. Boba now is more of a steel glove covered in a velvet sheathing. The steel is still there... only to be used if the velvet doesn't get the job done. Sadly, some people don't accept the "soft" approach... and need a blaster bolt to the face. Or an electro pike/axe.
I like where the story is going, despite a couple wobbles/technical/pacing issues in the first episode.
Personally, I LIKE the new armor look, but I also like the original. "Why didn't he ever paint it in the original trilogy?" Because the costume designer thought it looked cool all banged up? Seriously, this suit was designed 40 years ago. Do the US Marines use the same uniforms they did 40 years ago? Nope. Heck, in ANH all we see are TK troopers. No Death Troopers, no scouts, no Shore Troopers. The SW story and design has evolved and has been "fit" into the universe. Why didn't Boba repaint his armor? Because it looked cool for the 5 minutes of film time he had on screen.![]()
Completely agreebtw, check out that rifle in the 5th pic...gorgeous!!
You know of anyone who has tried successfully to make that prop?Completely agree

Rumors are fieldmarshall is making one..
Wait a minute....i realize the intitial problem with predicting a hot toy in '77 when...Lucas himself didn't even know how successful the movie was gonna be but out of his own mouth he said the TOYS are where the money is...SO, from 1983 ROTJ til 1999 TPM there wasn't a Star Wars movie and with Lucas involved there were plenty of toys for kids dealing with those movies...fast forward to 2015 TFA, the last movie before that was 2005 ROTS...10 years!!! They had 10yrs (obviously Lucas sold to Disney, still having plenty of time) and 32 YEARS since the original cast was in a Star Wars movie and they didn't have enough time to prepare or predict that the toys would be a big draw?....i'm not buying that excuse.Back in 77...
Early bird empty cardboard box..
The figures/merch wasn't available till the following year in the US with only a cardboard promise to play with for Christmas..
Here in UK I don't think we had even that..
It must be notoriously hard to predict a Hit toy before it hits the shelves.. there has been many a good film with toys that practically went straight to the Bins.. Toys R Us were full of such examples..
EDIT : I just re watched TBOB and TBH apart from that "Mando banjo" music the rest seemed pretty good this time round.
The music in the Tusky camp sounded a bit too jolly for what was happening but the rest Played OK..
Looking forward to watching pt2 hooked up to my projector..
This is the Way!
Nailed It!! That is the only thing that makes sense to me as well.A lot of these behavior or character changes we are questioning is the whole reason for this show in my opinion. I think the Boba Fett we see in Mandalorian is a very different person. I don’t think these flashbacks are just to fill in the timeline with events, I think they may go on for many episodes and they’ll be integral in understanding why he’s changed and how he’s approaching being a crime lord different than he would have in the past.
My guess, and from what we’ve already seen, is that this is going to be something of a “Dances with Wolves” situation. Staying with the Tuskens and learning their ways, ultimately changing his own ways and views.
Boba had his family taken from him early in his life and while you could argue the Bounty Hunters he was friends with was something of a family, it’s possible they even angle this as something of a family to him depending on how long he’s there. Based on the flashback of Kamino and Jangos death, I think the the theme of family could become big (and even pave the way for Omega to make sense appearing in season 2, if there is one). George always said Star Wars is a story about family, so that could fit well.
This may “soften” his character up a bit, but after he basically died, this seems like a realistic turn. Aging, life and death experiences, and time to reflect can do that to anyone. Especially if the Tuskens make a big impression on him.
Things like him keeping his armor clean or changing up his habits already make sense to me without a detailed explanation. I see his wardrobe in his Bounty hunting days to be like any phase we go through. I wore the same stuff during my teen years but changed up in my 20s, then 30s, etc. Its a new phase for him. I could also see this being more of a trend in general as the Empire is no longer oppressing people, so everyone has time to slow down and take care of themselves a bit more.
No way, that dent is classic Boba fettI'm waiting for him to fix that dent..
I love this guy's vids. May not be EXACTLY what you're wanting, but it's a good con-safe alternative. You know of anyone who has tried successfully to make that prop?
Thank you...i will give it a watchI love this guy's vids. May not be EXACTLY what you're wanting, but it's a good con-safe alternative.
