The Amazing Spiderman (Reboot) Costumes and Wardrobe

haha so true. can't forget about the thumbholes!

do you like the american apparel one? slim and brown with the thumbholes in all their glory?

well i cant really give you an opinion yet since my thermal wont get here until next week since i ordered it online but judging from reviews and lictures it looks very comfortable and a nice shirt to have

Thanks! The Old Navy Jacket is actually pretty light, definitely not a winter coat but more of a fall/spring coat. If you want I can take a picture of the inside for you. And regarding the black jacket, I had actually gotten it at Forever 21 about 2 years ago and its just a coincidence that it slightly resembles Peter's Varvatos jacket

Thanks for the feedback. There's an Old Navy right down the road from me so I'll go check it out.

Great job on your backpack by the way! Would you be willing to make one of those for me?

Thanks man! I know where to get the bag and I've seen posts on where to get the straps (though suggestions are always welcome!). I guess I need more help on how to attach them so well.

well are you attaching the straps just for the sake of having a prop or do you skateboard? I made mine to hold my skateboard and for me it took multiple tries to get the straps placed perfectly to hold the board without it slipping down.

I actually already had a jansport slacker and was also wondering how to put the straps on considering my friends all skateboard and want me to take it up and try it out and id love to show them my cool backpack holding it in a cool unique way instead of well the usual ones and any help of how to put them on would be a lot of help... also im trying to find a unique look a like for the bomber jacket any help would be great.. also the thumb holes ( if you get longer sleeves you'd most likely have to get a larger size and then it seemed to big so i don't know what to do with that...)

Went by Old Navy to pick up their field jacket (which is a great alt to the Vince in every detail from color to pockets except for the fact that it doesn't have a hood built in to the collar. Plus it has epaulets and the wrong buttons, but most of these alt coats we've found do - easy fixes there.) and came across these thermals on sale for $10.

A great match to Peter's brown one, with the darker stitching and long enough sleeves to where you don't have to go a size bigger for the thumb holes. Plus, you can't beat the price! They have a bunch of other colors as well. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have them online so you'll have to stop by your local ON and check 'em out but they're worth it! Just thought I'd pass this along!

Great find, thanks! i'll go check out my neighborhood old navy

Since alot of people have been asking me lately, this is how you make the backpack. Keep in mind, my backpack is far from perfect. The placement for the bottom strap is slightly off and the stitching is awful as opposed to the actual movie's bag having "invisible stitching". If you look back on some of the previous pages you'll find people who have made it much better than me but this is my two cents.
Anyways lets get started. First here's the backpack from the actual movie which should be your starting model and reference picture when making it

And here's mine

First off, you're going to need the three way buckle which can be found on strapworks.com or any other website. Then you need to attach the khaki/tan nylon webbing to the sections of the buckle and to two ladder lock buckles before anything.
After stitching the webbing to the sections of the buckle, attach the other pieces of the webbing to the backpack as shown here

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SEW THESE 2 PARTS TOGETHER. YOU NEED IT TO ADJUST THE STRAPS TO HOLD THE BOARD.

And if you're wondering if it actually hold the skateboard:

(That bulge on the top right corner is an error which I will fix eventually)
And a peek at what the stitching looks on the inside of the bag

Thanks! This is a big help.

Did anyone ever ID the grey utility shirt he's wearing in the scene where he goes to Connor's house? Obviously this is a popular style shirt right now so there's many out there similar enough but did anyone ever figure out the real deal? Just curious. Looked back through the posts since I was last on a few months ago and didn't see anything about it...could have missed it though.

Went to go pick up the grey Forever 21 hooded field jacket that resemble's Peter's (worn in the scene I mentioned in my last post about the utility shirt, in which he visit's Dr. Connor's at his house) and came across yet another great Vince alt there. Unfortunately, it's got this zipper over the left pocket that's a major detraction but other than that (and the lack of a zip-out hood in the collar, no exterior hems on the lower pockets, some military pocket detail, epaulets, as well as a different style of back hem) it's a close enough match in color and style. Plus...gold buttons!

Way to take initiative! :) In addition to your info... I put together a blog post in early September that breaks down the backpack mod and points out the differences between the screen-used backpack and the ones used for the viral movie marketing. There are also some tips on what to do/not do when you're recreating this prop.

TASM backpack mod help

Finished my mod awhile ago... Left the straps a little longer than screen accurate so I could use them with bulkier things and I'm pretty happy with the end result. I would definitely suggest going with the screen accurate strap length unless you have a specific use in mind because it looks way better in the end. :thumbsup

I can answer questions as well if anyone needs a hand.

Hey everyone!

With the casting announcement of Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Due to the fact that it's currently in pre-production and production starts in early 2013, I figured I'd get a new thread started since we'll likely be getting some set stills before not too long here...and then the hunt for everyone's new digs will be on not to mention modifications on Spidey's new suit!

YOU CAN FIND IT HERE! :popcorn
