Hey guys a little of topic but im making peters skateboard from the first movie and i could use some advise.

Ok ive got a friends whos given me a 7.5 inch wide board, WITHOUT trucks, do the trucks have to be a certain size?

I could really use some help thanks.

It's not 100% necessary, but you should try to get trucks about the same width as the deck.

I'm not sure if this is still relevant or not but I went to Old Navy today and picked up their new military jacket with a hood in black today and i have to say, it's AMAZING. It looks very similar to Peter's in the skateboard scene and the "I'm Richard Parker's son" scene.

Yeah, it is! Picked it up myself after I posted about it last week and I was very pleased. A great alt indeed. Old Navy has turned out to be the poor man's Peter Parker clothing source when you consider the jackets, thermals, t's, hoodies, etc.

On a related note, the jacket in question is still an enigma to me. To my knowledge, Vince never made their field jacket in black...just army green. And yet, having watched that scene many times, that black field jacket appears to be exact in detail to the Vince (considering the Vince has some pretty unique telling details compared to the vast amounts of other field jackets out there). I guess it's possible that the costume designer dyed a green Vince black, wanting the character to have a black version of his signature jacket. Just odd.

Mary Jane's wardrobe is baffling me, as far as cost goes. All of her identified pieces so far aside from one are from Rag and Bone and extremely expensive! The other piece is a pair of AG Adriano Goldschmied jeans and they aren't cheap either. I may have to entirely go the alternative route on this one. :wacko

Same with Parker's! Vince. Save Khaki. John Varvatos. Lots of boutique brands sold at Niemans, Nordstroms, Barneys, etc. Some of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford a piece here and there but it's pretty pricey for a majority of fans.

However, you have to look at it from the point of view of the costume designer...they're choosing pieces based on what they feel is right for the character or characters' look, typically from top designers and the latest fashions...we may have a budget but they don't! However, within the universe of the film, the labeless clothing could just as well be affordable pieces from H&M or even Target for all the general onlooker knows! In fact, with a character like Parker who we're told doesn't have a lot of money, that's what they want us to believe.

The important thing, if you're cosplaying as a character or even trying to incorporate their style into your own daily style, is that you just have fun with it. It's easy to get caught up in the hunt. You may not be able to afford (or even find!) her exact jacket or jeans but if you find something that captures the same essence and you're happy with it, then that's what really matters. After all, isn't the real reason we're all doing this is for fun?!

Oh, I still have fun. And I'm not fussed that I can't afford the real thing, just a bit baffled by the jump in price from, say, Peter's Wardrobe, and even Gwen's from the first movie, to the pieces they've selected for Mary Jane. I don't doubt that they might have a larger budget this time around due to the success of the last film, but still!

Emma and Shailene were filming recently and while I don't have any pictures on hand at the moment, I've identified her new jacket as being from Paige Denim (their Coated-Sleeve Denim Jacket). Will add pics asap, as I'm trying to hunt down Gwen's togs as well.

However, I have my natural deck right now which I made to be in the same style of Peter's but to fit my life more (my schoolwork, notes, drawings, etc)
Anyways heres the full board:

I drew a little Superior Spider-Man head along with some chemistry equations and morse code from the viral marketing

Some trigonometry and a MLK quote up on top

And I even drew in the spider symbol to fill up the empty space on the tail

I actually sent them a mail, a while back. This is what the replied with;

Hello
Thank you for your interest, We have no time to do that recently,
Some customer said the color was not exactly accurate and want to change that,
We can take pictures if we get a finished one, So far,customers have
to buy it on the website directly.but you can write requests along
with it, Thank you,

Anyway, I honestly had no idea the lens-frames were supposted to be blue. When / how was that discovered?
