The Amazing Spiderman (Reboot) Costumes and Wardrobe

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

Can't get the clip to load, but from the released still... I gotta say the messed up costume really really reminds me of those old gardening gloves I used as a kid. It's got a weird.. almost plastic/cheap rubber look to it.

Here's hoping it looks better on the big screen!

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

I am a HUGE Sam Raimi fan and am not too thrilled that the studio pissed off Raimi enough to not do the fourth movie.

I had even become somewhat attached to Tobey MGuire as Spiderman, I think he did an awesome job.

Of course like most other Venom fans I thought Topher Grace wasn't the best choice, but I was excited to see the character on the screen none the less.

The only reason I HATE reboots like this like every other sequel that changes directors or actors, is they are going to spend half the movie establishing character and the story and about half the story on relating the good guy with the villain. And all of this has already been established, but for fear of relating it to the other movies where it's not supposed to be related, they have to start ALL over again.

So I will see this movie in the theaters, but I am not hoping on too much.

As for the new costume, I am not too excited about it, it looks like they spray painted a dirty basketball.

I just saw the new spidey suit for the first time, and Yuck! I don't cotton to this, no how. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Is this going to be worse than SM3?

Deleted due to size, and I see one above

The belt doesn't look like it was torn off to me. You can see it coming around the sides and then it stops. I think it was a stylistic choice to make the belt not join the red part in front.

I betcha five bucks it runs across the his back at the waist and simply stops.

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

It is looking more and more like the belt does in fact not exist, who knows if that will change throughout the movie though. This could be one of multiple costumes in the movie. Anyone else notice that a few of the fingers are blue?

As far as the stripes down the legs and the "half-belt", I'm wondering if those will somehow be the legs of the spider on his back? Like instead of it being a separate entity, it blends/fades/extends into other aspects of the suit.

Not, digging the suit what so ever. It also seems as if they are aiming peter Parker for "geek sheek."

LOL Gundam, I know you're gonna hate me for this.. but I kinda like it :cool It's gonna be a hell of a replication to produce..

Here's some vidcaps of the mask. Poor quality, but you can see the size of the eyes. I would have bet money on the giant eyes, but this looks rather Ditko-ish. I kinda like it (I've never been a fan of the giant eyes).

With spy pics hitting the web (no pun intended), an official photo release should be imminent.

Are you referring to the suit in that set photo as the "conventional suit"? I'm pretty sure that is the exact same suit as the publicity still released last week.

You're right. It does look like the sane suit. It looked at first like the "normal" suit. Still not going to see it though.

That thing really is pretty ugly. The bottom half more so than the top.

It's maddening that they would so radically redesign the look of Spiderman for no earthy reason. The classic look of Spiderman at least was honored, if not wonderfully improved on in the Raimi movies. I quit reading comics in the mid-70's when I was in high school and used to shake my head when I'd see the various outlandish redesigns of Spidey in the 80's onward. Why tinker with what was already an iconic design just for the sake of tinkering?

This makes me doubt that the story or entire movie would be worth watching if this is the level of judgment whoever is producing and directing this thing.

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

Looks like speed skater spider-man. Lame. Maybe the movie won't suck, but the costume sure does.

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

Is that a red coloured lens or is it just glare? It kinda looks like they were going for a combo of 2099 and classic and failed.
