That's No Balloon, PROGRESS REPORTS

Whoa, that's brilliant. We've done all sorts of crazy stuff with large scale props using all sorts of materials, but we have never ventured into inflatables.

Did any of you have experience with balloon making before of did you teach yourself? To have someone describe it, you'd think that there's no way it would be possible for someone without expertise in that to tackle something like this, but when you look at the build pics, you start thinking "Hmmmm.... with the right materials and adhesives and templates, a little experimenting and some smaller scale tests....."

I'd love to know more!

Duck it started life as a ten foot diameter PVC Silver Gray balloon and four additional colors of gray sign vinyl and the dish is a kid's saucer sled. This just goes to show that you really don't have to over think a project. Believe me I tried.

I can't wait to blow that death star up...um I mean parade along with it. No really Im not a rebel.

Well if you shoot the way you take directions Jingle Fett, we're in no danger, I think you over estimate your chances!
I have a 1500 watt inverter coming that I will have to run from the battery through the engine firewall so I can run the 6.5 hp shop vac to inflate and deflate it.
I'm still trying to get helium donated for the airshow.

I saw the Blue Angels last year at the Peoria airshow and they were awesome! I still can't believe our local idiots let the airshow get moved from Bloomington to Peoria. I used to be able to sit on my deck and watch it!

I got the word last night that the FAA won't allow the DS to fly over the airshow. So it will simply be inflated and tethered to Skull One (my Sonoma)
