Termokk P1 Legs - Completed

Nice ass dude lol...
actually the way you used the 2 half plaster bandage molds and then cast them seperately is great idea. Something I defo gotta try out.
Looking forward to seeing this sculpt come to life

Looking very cool. Did you try heating the seams with a heat gun and bending them back? Did the casts come out easily or did you have to break the plaster? Are you foam-filling these, once seamed? Love your threads, bro. Keep 'em coming!

Hey i didnt try heating them, mainly because i had already painted fiberglass into the inside and couldent see the gap. I am filling it now, and its almost all fixed, but im running low on epoxy sculpt so probably gonna order some more. The bandages came off easily in some areas, and stuck like crazy to others. I used a home made wax and naptha blend as a mold release. And yes one of the major point to having this is so i can foam the armour parts and the insides of the latex legs once they come out. The lifecast itself will remain hollow, but will act as a core for foaming latex skins.

the legs shape looks awesome is the first time i see this method the suit will fits perfectly to your body :D i will sculpt over a mannequin because this method scares me a little

UGH! I hate when I've typed a really long post and then accidently hit back on my trackball. So, I try again, only abbreviated this time...

So, the plaster mold warped when you took it off and laid it down to finish drying? yeah, I meant hitting the glass cast with the heat gun. Picked that tip up from Stealth per his Pep vids. Works pretty well, once you get the hang of it. Though, I have a feeling yours would be too thick, anyway. What resin did you use? How many layers of glass? Could you briefly explain your mounting to the board process?

Hey bud,
Well the legs are mounted to the board with 3/4 inch falanges, on a foot long metal pipe. I just fiberglass the pipe into the legs then attach it with the falanges. It has 4 layers of fiberglass to make it sturdy. The resin is a bondo namebrand fiberglass. Did that answer all your questions?

Not often your wife catches you and its a good thing is it?

Looking good, looking forward to seeing the progress on this one, and learning as thing or two.

I am back in action! I have been working a bit today on getting some clay onto the finished life cast. Its all still very rough but its getting some basic shapes. I have been heating the clay in the microwave and trying to apply it evenly so i dont loose the origional shape of the life cast legs. I will have more updates soon!

Lol, Thats my grilfriend, shes the one that caught me. Im sure you will see more of her once we get her twi-lek costume done.

I did the same thing in high school. I was standing outside practicing for Drumline and I passed out. They thought I had a heart condition because the moronic doctors had never heard of people passing out when locking their knees. Same thing happened to a male chaperone on one of my tour groups earlier in the year. But anywhoooo, This is going to look sweet. Considering how awesome the torso you make looks.
