Terminator T2 T101 Bust Nearly there.

Going to try & get closer!:love

Camera distance plays a huge part in doing photo comparisons. Most people try to photograph at 4-5 feet and their photos almost always suffer from perspective distortion (this fish-eye effect) where the parts closest to the apex or center of the lens will appear larger and the parts farther away from the lens appears disproportionately smaller.

So the nose may or may not be too big depending on your camera distance. I advise people to either approximate the distance of the screenshot they're comparing against, or standardize on standing 6+ feet back and zooming in.

Here's an example of how Perspective Distortion can really screw up your photos and give people an inaccurate sense of proportions.

Close_vs_Far.jpg

The above helmet is the SAME helmet. The left is taken at 6 feet distance, the right was taken at about 4.5 feet. The 4.5 shot looks proportionately accurate but actually misleads the public. The perspective distortion hides the true shape of the mask which, in this case, is inaccurate to the original prop and is too flared in the head's rear opening. Anyway, you get the point. Do some studies with 6 ft. distance shots, and I can help you with comparative analysis.

I know. There's just no such thing as T101 until T3, which tells you something about "how big fans" the people making that crap really were. :lol

Incorrect, actually...
Does Reese not refer to it as a "Cyberdyne systems, model 101" in T2?

Also, check out the original teaser trailer for T2:

[EDIT]
Ah, I see what you mean - Actually referring to it as a "T101" uasing that exact term didn't happen til T3?
Gotcha!

He/it is still a T101 as Terminator says in T3 "that was a different T101" meaning that the other was a T101 too! And ,and if you think er, a, a, I just was saying that he shou.........................(white dot terminator death)

Look, sorry to be polluting your thread with this geekiness... so I'm just gonna stop and concentrate on commenting on your work.

But... T3 what? :lol

Thanks, I've been reworking him a bit especially after Mac did the photoshop job. I've softened a few features here and there. I must admit I'll be glad when it's done. Hitting a bit of a wall at the moment.

Two options when hitting a wall. Trudge on or step back and take a break. I'd recommend the stepping back, to get a fresh perspective on things. Busy your mind and hands with something else, so you can come back to the project with renewed vigor. Would be a shame to run tired now.

:cheers

Hey guys,
thanks for your support. I was working on the sculpt last week. I'll try and get some more pics for Mac. The ones I sent for a photoshop comparison were a bit off. Having said all that there will HAVE to come a time when I say STOP! and stop obsessing over every little detail. Trust me that time is coming very soon lol...
