Yeah I have the two power sanders but this stuff wanted to drip down the sides and into angled edges of all the pieces so I am having a hell of a time with it. I will be back at it tomorrow and my whole attitude may change after that. If things are gioing to turn around then tomorrow is the day it should happen. Either I will find a way to make it all work or I'll just light the whole thing on fire.

O.K. The StyroSpray 100 I am using is a really grat product, Except that It is harder to sand down than bondo and you burn down to the foam again on all the corners to get a smooth finish. I am trying to recoat the edges and it looks like I may be able to use the accursed bondo to lift some of the low areas on the helmet because a helmet is not a part that has to flex much. The whole sanding down process will take about a week but the finished piece should reflect the effort.

My camera phone is broken, Will have to borrow daughters camera to post update pics soon. Her suit has not been forgotten. I am learning from the mistakes on my suit before figuring out thwe finish process for hers. A local filmaker wants to create a Feature length fan-film Iron Man movie this winter. He has the green screens and effects group for repulsor blasts and flight. That should be fun to be a part of. I want to light the eyes but I need a really, REALLY simple way to do it. Any suggestions?........Please?

The Styro Spray stuff has turned out smooth as glass and seems to be super tough stuff! I have only finished out the right shin/calf piece but it looks and feels like the real thing. I am slowing down a bit on the manic pace of the build because it is pretty plain to me that I would have to sacrifice the finished quality of the armor to meet the halloween deadline. I would like to cast some duplicates of this specific version of the mark 4 because I have tweaked it out with a lot of little extras and details that make it kinda special. I will post some pics of the suit just before final paint.

I found some deep cherry red Hi-gloss and brillant gold. whole suit paint cost $38 bucks. The pro auto paint job will have to wait. I have the helm done and will be completing the paint tomorrow. will upload pics then.

I'd be interested in getting ahold of some pep files on the iron maiden suit. Trying to convince my own girlfriend to let me build her one but she says we will see how mine turns out...

Took third place at a contest last night. $200 cash and prizes. But the crowd reaction was great. 2nd place was a Bumblebee that transformed into a car and drove around the stage! Pretty tough to beat that.

First place I think was an owner of the establishment plant. It was three elderly women dressed as trees! Not kidding.

Tonight we are going to a "Hiro's and Villians Ball" at a sushi club. first place is $200 gift card to Victoria's Secret. My wife should be able to use that.

halloween was a blast! We went to 3 contests and won two of them. The third was one of those DJ run contests that had four finalists, all of them had quietly come in and hung out in the back until they were suddenly called up onstage and won all four places. They tried to looked surprised like they had just really won cash and prizes but it was pretty clear they were just some of the DJ's dance crew. It was still a good time! I didn't get the suit done until saturday after noon so we missed a bunch of events this year. I did get to do the "Tony Stark hangin' in da club" thing and that drew more attention than full helmed suit with lights!. oh yeah, we did win the $200 for Victoria's Secret.

I had to share this one, Look at our faces in this pic. this is what two hours plus walking outside in florida in these suits does to a person. I was so proud of my son though.
