Sylgian's Sith Stalker (501st approved!)

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Thanks for the video... that is awesome! I can't wait to see the whole suit put together. Great job on your build so far.

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

I agree with everyone on these boards, this is outstanding work! im very much looking forward to seeing how you do at celebration. cheers!

ps. i started contructing your pep file for the helmet and it is a good fit for me :) i really like the way fierfeks helmet looks and i am still going to finish it but keep it as a display model since its a bit small. but working on that one is great practice for the future.

thank you for inspiring me. keep up the great work!

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Picked this up at target today. I will be doing some light body-work to it and repainting it. Hopefully when I am done its going to be a great starkiller lightsaber. Great start for 9 bucks.

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

i had the same idea to use those sabers. i picked up a few for my kids awhile back and was like hm, these could be modded quite easily :p

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

well finished assembling your pep file and i gotta say i am very pleased with the way it turned out and the ease of fitting the pieces together was real nice. I do have to alter a tad so it will fit me a bit better. ill share some pics with you soon. :)

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Hasbro stuff actually isn't half bad. I'm currently modding the orginal force unleashed saber to look more like the real one... Surprising how inaccurate it is. (They made it have 4 spikes for some odd reason...)

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Man I just gotta say that this is absolutely SICK! Keep up the fantastic work.

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

No updates last weekend. I took an extended weekend trip with the wife. But I am back at it tonight and I have some painted claws for ya.

I did a bit of finishing on the ribs. I will continue to work on that this week and I will have some pics soon.

Amazing work man ! Loving this! Your could do a little bit of foam to as a little muscle if you wanted to?

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Starting to finish up the ribs. If all goes well I should have them painted tomorrow. They still have some corners and polygons where I wish they were more rounded, but all-in-all I am happy with them. I am REALLY excited to get them mounted and see how everything looks. There is finally some light at the end of the tunnel!

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

I know you answered some helmet size questions earlier in this thread, but I just wanted to make sure. I'm similar in height and weight to you and I also have a large head so I might be good. My head is about 22-23 inches in diameter. Is that about right or will I have to change the scale?

Oh, and awesome job on the arm. I had just assumed you would have to skip the robot arm part but you've done an incredible job simulating the prostetic.

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

Holy ****, very impressive work so far! Extremely menacing, and evil! I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I hope you meant circumference. Lol. According to the tape measure on my desk my head is about 23" in circumference. So we are really close in head size. You should be pretty well off not scaling the model.

Re: Sylgian's Sith Stalker (WIP)

I hit the ribs with some primer on lunch.

With them being a uniform color, you can see all the angles that I was talking about. I don't love them, but the amount of bondo work it would take to fix all of it would be too much trouble and add quite a bit of weight. I tried sculpting details with bondo on the helmet, and it was a real pain.

Anyway, hard angles should be much less obvious once I add all the airbrushed weathering. I will be doing that this evening.

Got some paint laid down on the ribs. I still need to do the blood spatter as well as apply a final clear coat. It will end up a bit glossier than it appears now. Really excited.

Airbrushed, awaiting blood spatter and a clear coat.
