Re: Supernatural Props.What Ya Got...

This is "Lilith". She took me over 3 years to finish. She is pretty much a full restoration. Enjoy

Re: Supernatural Props.What Ya Got...

I just want to let you people who buy and restore these Impalas know that you are the most pathetic, embarrassing people alive. To assuage yourself of your shame, you should just drive your sad piles of crap to Indiana...and leave them in the empty lot across the street from my house...where they will surely not find their way into my garage. YOU DISGUST ME.

Yeah!
And you know if you're ashamed of your ruby knives and colts (as well you should be) you can send them to me and I'll properly dispose of them for you. No charge!

Possibly the very best way to prank a n00b like myself.. because there were legit tears pooling in the corners of my eyes! I though "oh my heart, why would someone say such mean things about Baby?!!" and then BOOM!

You got me :facepalm A+ to you :thumbsup

She's a beauty!! I'm trying to contain my jealousy :unsure Honestly 'tho, you've done a gorgeous job! I dunno if I'll ever have the knowhow or money to put together my own Baby. Just a few weeks ago 'Hunter' the (other) clone Impala was up for sale... asking price was $50k. I don't doubt the value because if I had that much money I would've dropped it for that car. Alas, I do not have 50 grand burning my pocket. hehe. Anyway. 'Lilith' is breath taker :cool

Re: Supernatural Props.What Ya Got...

I don't have any Supernatural props but I was wondering if anyone was working on the Key and it's box from last weeks episode and if anyone had ID'd what all goes into a crossroads box?

I want to make the crossroads boxes for me and my wife but doubt I have the skill to make the key and it's box.

Hi. I'll be the first to admit, I lack the talent and time - but I've added the Men of Letters key and box to my long list of 'things i want to try' .. I'm fairly certain someone with the proper skill set will come up with something before I do but should that not happen *shrugs* we'll see what I can do :]

Also, sorry.. I can't remember the contents of the crossroads box off the top of my head :/

RE: The Men of Letters Key & Box, I also lack the skill for it but I have a Flickr gallery of 720p HD screenshots of every appearance of it in the 2 episodes it shows up for anyone who wants to try.
Supernatural References - Key Box - a set on Flickr

It is, at least, very clear detailing of the largest and side panels (I'm pretty certain it's symmetrical) although there's never a great view of the smallest two panels. The construction looks like the top of the box opens like a cigarette packet with the two hinges hidden on the inside, the top panel slides off and is held in place in the lower right corner so it pivots, allowing the gold plate that covers the key to be slid up and out, which reveals the key in its little housing.
To me, it looks like the mechanism to keep it closed are small magnets - the little silver and painted studs visible on the shots where the box is open. Although we don't see the back side of the pivoting top panel it must also have a set to keep it attached to the front of the box.

I dunno...a replica .45 might be tough to get through, but The Colt's going to be broken into a few pieces - perhaps labeling it "plastic prop replica" or some such weirdness might be enough to get it through...?

I doubt it - guns, ammunition, parts of guns, replica guns, and realistic imitation guns are all banned. Who decides if it's a "realistic" imitation gun? The random dude who checks your box!

Maybe if someone broke it into pieces and put it in a lead box full of sugar or something. I have no idea how to fool X-ray machines!

But hopefully someday I can L2paint and then get a resin kit or something.
