Sucker Punch SPOILERS!

Re: Sucker Punch

Dont get me wrong....i will sit through a slow movie to get to the ending....just when i got to the ending of this film, i just didnt give a ****

That's cool; I'm not trying to talk any one individual into seeing what they don't want to see. I think SPACEBALLS sucks wind and remains the only film I have ever walked out of, and I am notoriously easy to please. I love Mel Brooks, and that flick is just beneath me. That doesn't mean I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG, that just means it's not for me.

But there's a lot of reaction to this film that is more about the observer and not of the observed.

Re: Sucker Punch

Hello all. Long time voyeur, First time poster. If you remembered they actually said something about "3 women died, a orderly was stabbed and she helped someone escape" when they come back to the original lobotomy room. So Amber (the love of my life), Rocket and Blondie WERE part of the fantasy in some way.

For me the WHOLE movie tied together in the last 10 minutes while she's walking to the final lobotomy. They say that she set fire to a room and show it as she passes where the guy is boarding up the room. They show the chef with a knife missing, they show the opening of the building with the sign that says about the locks and fire. And mention that 3 women died, 1 escaped and a orderly was stabbed. So every action that happened in the fantasy world was REAL just how they went about getting to that point is up for the viewers read on the movie.

I personally didnt like the movie, LOVED the OST though. The lead (babydoll) sings 2 songs and is feat. on one. I didnt realize that she was the lead role in lemmony snicket until i imdb'd it after i left "sticky floors".

Re: Sucker Punch

I liked Space Balls at a certain age, but I find it extremely painful to watch now.

heh, heh, heh, that's how I feel about a lot of films I grew up with! Lots of discussion on Return of the Jedi but I just can't sit through it much today :lol

I think Sucker Punch would have been really cool about ten years ago. would have been more fun if this was shown in 3D ... might have been more engaging. I was really surprised it wasn't. Highly stylized comic book films always tend to be more difficult to take in. (Sin City)

Re: Sucker Punch

...Amber (the love of my life)....

I think it's really funny that everybody liked Amber so much. A couple of friends that I went to the movie with know the actress IRL and wouldn't stop talking about how much of a ***** she is. Kind of put me off her. Actually, the only one I gave much of a crap about at all was Rocket.

Man, I went in with Blondie and Amber on my mind and when the movie was rolling it was indeed Rocket that I fell for! Not to mention the only fully developed character and the only one you cared about in the film! :lol

Re: Sucker Punch

..like the censors said, "you can't show that, she's only 16". I'd be interested to see a director's cut.

Really? I could've sworn when her stepdad was filling out the admittance paper he mumbled that she was 20...huh. maybe i was just hearing things. *shrug*

Re: Sucker Punch

I want you to be able to just go nuts and then also be able to sit with your friends afterwards and go, “No way, dude. You don’t get the socio-implications of this f*ckin’ movie.” And the other guy going, “I don’t know what the f*ck you’re talking about!”

yup, that is what's happening here! :lol

nope, what we have here is entirely different....it is like walking down into the art district in Los Angeles.....you have your artsy fartsy people that actually know their stuff, then you have the people that pretend to look artsy fartsy just to look cool.....this movie needs to stop pretending it is something else

you cant sell me peanut butter then tell me it is caviar

Re: Sucker Punch

i got sucker punched all right , but it wont happen again , as far as im concerened zac snyder is the new m night shamalamdingdong , and superman is gonna suck , (Amy adams as lois lane ) what a ***kin idiot

Re: Sucker Punch

then you have the people that pretend to look artsy fartsy just to look cool.....

I'm certainly not pretending to be anything... and certainly don't care if anyone thinks I'm cool or not just because I find certain aspects of the movie to discuss and appreciate. I actually liked the movie and admitted in earlier posts I had issues with it, think a lot could have been better whether you think I'm offering peanut mush or fish eggs. Certainly not pretending to be artsy fartsy thankyou very much. :rolleyes

Re: Sucker Punch

um, what the heck are you talking about....I was commenting the quote from snyder from the interview that you posted....

My comment was not directed to you, but to the film....

looked to me like a thinly veiled insinuation that those of us discussing the film more deeply and liking it were only pretending to know what we were talking about to "look cool" and be artsy fartsy. sorry if I got your meaning confused... gotta admit it looked like a jab at those of us that found something in the film to admire. There are discussions at length on films here that are far worse than Sucker punch! :lol
