Just incredible Lasse, the pics with you in shot really do show just how big a model this is in reality. I feel it's great you have made this with your own selected kit parts & have skillfully replicated the details flawlessly.
How heavy is it at the moment Lasse, given the thrusters are a separate section at present?.
Cheers

Jeez Lasse, its just so big (thats what she said) :lol. Loving the progression, its coming along so fast too, and the work still so clean, dont know how you do it sir, one of the Epic's on this forum!

Thanks! It feels pretty damn epic seeing it sitting there too. I never thought i would see the day... There is still sooo much work to be done on those ******* engines, but i am still going strong :cool

Well, all those years ago, it was your site that kinda got me into this madness, seeing you build the Probe Droid, Snowspeeder etc etc, Ollie with his work on the A wing, just amazing stuff, this build, trounces your previous work, which is something, because your past works are still stunning to look at today.

Keep strong man, Redbull, coffee, whatever it takes, seeing paint on this.....just wow!

Gallons of coffee is what it takes :thumbsup
I am aligning the thrusters preparing them so that i can take them on and off as i am working on them. Tomorrow i will be able to see them all mounted on the ship for the first time, that is the really big moment on this build - i simply can`t wait to see how it turns out :confused
This week I will also have to make the inner support for the mounting points. I am making two mounting points, one under the ships radar and on from the rear so it can be displayed in an upraised position.

Wow!, 50-60kgs, thats a fair weight Lasse, just over half what I can bench press lol:lol. The mounting stand will have to be a brute me thinks.
Can't wait to see you paint her, maybe another one of your fantastic videos coming up Lasse, hint, hint.

:confused Well, here it is - finally seen in its full glory. 65 - 70 kg with the base:sick:sick:sick
There is still a lot of work to be done...

I will post some more piccs of the inner armature tonight. It is a heavy duty 10 mm plexiglass construction that slides inside the model from the rear (sounded dirty)
The support base is made from thick compressed floor fiberboard (clapboard). I slabbed 4 layers together and trimmed the edges on a powerful tablesaw. I drilled a hole for the massive 52 mm PVC rod and locked it in place with resin. The resin does not stick to the PVC so the rod can be replaced with a longer one for rear mounting.

Yep, "sliding inside the model from the rear" sounds like your having WAY too much fun on this build Lasse:lol.
