Studio Scale Defiant (DS9)

Thanks.

Here's a small update. It looks like a disaster, but it's actually starting to come together. I'm glad Bondo is cheap, lol.

For gap filling, where I am at this stage, I use Duplicolor Filler primer, the primer in the pics. For finish primer I use Mr. Surfacer 1200 or Plastikote sandable primer. Mr. Surfacer being the smoothest and most expensive, so I'll use that on the last coat.

Nice progress on the coolest ship ever..

looking forward to keeping tabs on your work!

Ok, back on this now. I'm hoping to this project finished by this summer.

I decided to make the whole thing a one piece hollow fiberglass casting, so I joined the upper and lower body together and I'm now working that.

Like an idiot, I let the bondo on the front notch set up completely, so I've got to use a metal file now to work it.

Looks bad now, but I'll get it right.

Thank you.

Now I'm installing the bridge, first I made the bridge pieces out of plexiglass, 3 steps deep.

Then using my dremel router I routed out the material so the plexi pieces would fit flush.

Checking the fit.

Blending it in with bondo and gap filling primer.
