You get all the cool jobs!:lol:thumbsup:cool

DEFINITELY cool!!

(I'd almost give up a private part to hear Chekov say, "Thrust-aaaiiirr suit!"
Of course, doesn't Koenig get annoyed when people ask him to "do the accent?" :cool I'm just going by what he said on that episode of Futurama...)

Neat way to trade for mold material!

Hey. Same as you basically. Kits and jobs have me booked solid. Trying to get to it. Masters are all done. Trying to find time to mold them. I would suspect after the kit run for the Daedalus settles down and I finish this big Seaview for a customer I'll be able to get to it.

I have to say how awe inspiring this build is. Great work and instructions. It really makes one want to go out and build something grand.

Quick question if I may.

Since reading this thread I have found myself watching TOS from the beginning. The thing that jumped out at me from the beginning is the rear of the nacelles. Most shots (so far) seem to have the nacelles with the same curve as yours but with great big holes in the rear. The less frequent shots show the 'balls' that your model has.

I take it that there were at least 2 studio scale models used.

Do you know?

It feels like there may be an interesting story behind the differences in models.

I can't watch now without looking for other variations...... ;)

Once more, excellent work and great thread.

Thanks for the kind comments on my work. I hope to make molds on this one day when finances improve around here. I think Scott answered your question. thanks Scott.

Lots of work coming in, still things are tight.

However, I have decided to buy 5 gallons here and 5 gallons there to start molding these masters bit by bit starting with the saucer section. A couple of months down the road all the molds will be done and I can build two and sell one.

Thanks Chris I'm saving my pennies with hopes to get the first 5 gals in two weeks or less. Can't wait to build two and put this to bed. Then maybe I'll make up some kits. A few.

Hey, any progress is a step in the right direction, Steve.

So, I'm glad to hear you're going to slowly get yourself back into this project. And considering everything that's been going on, it's no wonder you haven't really had the time or finances to get the ball rolling on molding/casting this.

Despite the fact I'll likely never be able to get one of these way-kewl kits (not that your pricing isn't fair, my job just doesn't pay nearly enough to afford one), I certainly look forward to seeing this get kitted out and built by yourself and others.

Just seeing your dedication and attention to detail on this ol' beaut, and the awe-inspiring work you've done, is treat enough. Can't wait to see this production run come to fruition, my friend :D

This kit is going to be my one large prop buy for the year. :lol:lol:lol:lol
I have been putting money away since this thread started.
This is the coolest project I have seen in a while.

A little update,

Next week I should be getting the first 5 gallons of silicone. I may do all the small stuff first as the saucer section alone will eat up 5 gallons even with case molds.

Didn't want you guys to think for a moment I would let this die off. It's all about money. Big models cost big money.

I have been thinking about a 1/350 B once I finish this. Not as big and more affordable.

We'll see.

Steve
