Wow Steve! She is a splendid achievement, this Enterprise constructed by your hand sir. I look forward to viewing the forthcoming episodes of Captain Neill and the starship Enterprise as they patrol the galaxy!

Thanks for including me in the credits too. I am deeply honored.

She looks great in that last video. From the decals, to the paint and weathering, and finally the lights it couldn't be better.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Rosie at your side on the bridge :)

Including the names of all your RPF fans in the vid was nice tribute, thank you!

[shameful plug]And did you all notice who was first? :$[/shameful plug]

Wow. You know I had gotten so used to seeing you and just the parts as you worked on it seeing you pose next to it still startles me as to how BIG this model is. It's simply beautiful.

I was thinking as I fell off to sleep how the virtual bridge video thing is going to be, something new to look forward to and I thought 'Wouldn't it be great if he could get the original cast to crew that video?' and then I had a dream about and I had a disturbing nightmare of how it could all go wrong. Some screen caps from that nightmare...

Seriously, I hope this gives you a chuckle because it's the only way I can think of to repay the fun watching this build has brought me and so many of us here.

Steve,

From beginning to end; fantastic! As Rob said the paint, weathering, decals . . . just everything is perfect. Thank you for including all of us in the closing credits; very classy. I personally appreciate you taking all of our comments in stride and not getting pissy about them. You are a class act and it's been an honor to watch this from the beginning to the end.

Steve... it's not often it happens, but you've created something that's given me shivers down my spine.. it's that good!!

I have never seen something re-created so well. I think the Smithsonian need to give you a call and ask for a 11ft Enterprise to replace the messed up original.

OH MY GOD!
I NEED THAT "TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES" FEEDING SET FOR PORTIA!!!!

Ahem...sorry.

Awesome Video Steve! And thanks for the credit sir!
She's a beauty, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Bravo! :)

Let me just say this. you are all part of this story, I could not have done it without your support. Thanks for all the wonderful comments.

And Calufrax, I'll be printing those out for my wall!

John you know what's next.

Steve

It's been an amazing voyage Steve and your videos have been inspirational as well as educational! Thank you for taking us all along for the ride and I am pleased to hear there is still more to come. :thumbsup

Really?

Which part? Oh, do you mean Datin's ACTUALL 1964 Studio Scale Enterprise? The one You and Doug, and John Eaves, and Mike, and Rick, and David Gerriold, and Steve Tessier, and Brooks Peck, and I are actively working towards right now? That next? Or the ubercool stuff you have planned on your own that have nothing what so ever to do with YOU actually getting to restore the original, honest to God, 11 footer in the Smithsonian?

Which one did you mean?

Congratulations Steve. So often projects are started here that end up nowhere, but you undertook a MASSIVE challenge and finished it beautifully. All while making commission models, and Vulcan ears, and kits, and a Daedalus, and dealing with your family issues. Completely inspiring. (And thanks for the screen credit.)

One thing I least I think we can count on if Steve gets to do the original Enterprise restoration . . . . there won't be grid lines!!!!!! HURRAH!!!!!!!! lol

Congrats, I can't think of anyone else more qualified and suitable to restore her to the way we all remember her. Hope that works out and I hope you guys are successful. Just in time for the 50 year anniversary (boy that's hard to believe).

Steve,

Is this in the idea stage (restoring the original E) or is it something imminent?

If I can be presumptive enough to jump in here, this project is still in its infancy, but we've almost the entire Star Trek art department signed on. We've a plan for funding that involves the fans and hopefully a large donation from a very well off, well known trekkie, and more to come. Mike Okuda has already made a contact at NASM, and the last word I had from him, was that NASM was considering opening the case to make an initial survey of the model. So we're underway. There's alittle that I chip away on everyday, but we're going to need help, and I can't state this enough...we wouldn't be where we are were it not for this build and Steve. Everything came togeather at the right time and Steve made some introductions and has been from day one (September 8th 2011) the person I knew would be instrumental in restoring the ship. So definatly more to come, and in the next day or so (I have to go to work soon), we'll start a dedicated thread so as not to clutter Steve's. In the meantime, if you've any questions or suggestions, or help, I leave you in the more than competent hands of Mr. Steve Neill. ;)
