Way to go Steve!
This has been amazing to watch, and as you near completion let me just add my congratulations, and thanks.
If it had not been for this build, I wouldn't have had any idea where or to whom to take my ideas. This build and this ship means a lot to me. It made me aware of one hell of an artist, gave us the first champion of our effort, and someone I can count among my good friends. (Yup your on the Christmas Card list!)
Anyway, thank you sir for everything. Know that I'm also jealous as hell of the beautiful ship you've got there, I wish I had the skills to build one for myself. Enjoy it, and be proud of her, afterall...as I was saying to Mike Okuda (blatant name drop alert) the other day, this model has been one hell of an audtion for the REAL THING.

Again, Congratulations!

John

That turned out okay! :lol

I know that this thread for (better or worse) got me started on my own Enterprise scratchbuild, as well as my own bridge miniature. I guess that if you inpsire others, you can count yourself as a success, and its pretty clear you've inspired a LOT of people. This build, and this thread, are really something special.

Thanks.

I'm going to be just about as excited as anyone else when you finish this build, Steve, but also a bit bummed. I'm now so used to watching your videos every morning that I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with that 10-20 minutes when they stop! :D

This has just got be the best thread on the RPF. Ever. And that one year to the day, from framing it up in foam to sealing it up and finishing it out, at this scale and that level of detail and quality, is an amazing, impressive accomplishment. And I feel very fortunate to have witnessed the whole thing.

Congratulations Steve, and thank you!

I found Steve's next project. Don't tell Rosie.

LOL! Classic.

Steve! You really need your own show on the Discovery channel. I would love to see what you and an assembled team of helpers could put together each week. The only problem then would be...I would have to get PAYTV. :( Unless of course you hired me. :)Think of all the sanding and filling you wouldn't have to do ;)

Here's something for you to ponder Steve, as you mark the one year mark. You know how when like most all of us, you got your first computer and wished you had Mr. Spock's skills to make it work? Or when you scraped your knuckles working on something mechanical and wished you had the skills of Scotty? And so on. You looked up to those fictional characters and lived vicariously through them?

Well, you are one better than that. We know you are real and I for one am living vicariously through you! Plus Mr Spock never showed me how to use a computer or Scotty taught me what I need to know to make an engine go. So thanks a million for sharing all these pictures and videos.

That's not just a model, it's a work of art!

Now if you'll find time to make a tutorial of that lathe I saw in part 44a because I just coincidentally bought what looks like the exact same one from a salvage place in good working condition but missing a few parts for $24 and have no idea how to use it yet... ;)

PS, I also think you should have a Discovery Channel TV show. "The New Starship Workshop" probably isn't taken, but copyright it quickly!

Guys you are the best and words can't express how much I appreciate you all and your support.

I didn't finish today and will tomorrow morning. But I did get one Bussard lighted up and rotating and the other just needs the LEDs in the morning and I'll have both.

The effect still needs a bit of tweaking but over all for shooting in the dark with no circuit and tinted flashing 5 mm LEDs I'm happy. The Video will explain. It will upload late tonight.

Thanks again guys!

Steve

HOLY CRAP!!!!!

SHE LIVES!!! :)

You know she looked awesome before, but with with her engines running she really comes to life. You know I think that's one of the main things (among many, many others) that I despise about the JJprise, with it's engines off it looks dead. THIS Enterprise is anything but dead! She lives and breathes and those were just some stills. VIDEO! We need video!

Happy Anniversary Steve! The nacelles look great. I've wondered how it might look with just some random blinkers instead of a circuit, looks just fine to me.

The DIY channel used to have some modeling shows, including RC, so why not?

Looks great! Its hard to believe your are almost completed. One thing though, the fan blade decals should be tapered instead of the same width. They should be wider at the base of the dome and thinner towards the center. Perhaps they are and it just doesn't appear that way on the video. In any case she is fabulous.

Great Scott! Beautiful! What a load of work over 1 year!

Shouldn't the buzzards not have that dark point in the center when lit, though? Or has that issue been covered previously.
