thanks Steve! While I got your ear, where do you get your sanding sponges? The local big box home depot types don't have a wide variety of grits in their selections, and the auto places ( with the high end grit papers) don't carry sponges.

thanks for the intel

I know this is repetetive but WOW

Jedi Dade

That's the problem with build threads that run a year or longer, you can only say "Wow, that's great!" so many times :lol

But I'll say it again, Wow, this is great! The paint color looks good, just right.

I've been trying to think of what I could add to this.

But all I can come up with is to just repeat WOW!

this is truly an inspiring build.

Thanks guys...really.

OK. got the engineering hull 99 % and the dorsal matched to the saucer very well. Video is uploading. I got to say Aztek Dummies decals are...AWSOME!

Got to finish off a kit order or the next few days so no more videos or work on her until that's finished. I should be back to her this weekend to finish off the saucer section.

Here's a few pictures to tie you over.

Steve

Just think.

This is where you were roughly a year ago.

And look at where you are now. Starting to put the finishing touches on her. Oh what a long, strange, journey it has been.

This turned out to be a very slow cooker for you. I just hope that when your kids and your grand kids look at it. They will treat it with reverence.

I am predicting another 2 weeks to completion. But take your time. The best of things cannot, will not, and shalt not be rushed.

All the best!
Alex

Video is being processed. Hope it will not dare to show me the victims XD

{Edit}

Well I seen the video. Hope to see it progress some time soon. And who ever is getting the kit that you are making better like it or otherwise I would love to take it off their hands. *wink wink*

All the best!

Steve,

I've seen lots of models of the Enterprise. Clearly, you are building THE Enterprise. Just incredible. You absolutely nailed it.

Steve,
The 1/1000 kit recommends Light Ghost Gray but it is too dark in that scale.
Your 2/3 white lightening looks spot on! Hope you don't mind if I purloin that idea...

Steve,

At the risk of being called a rivet counter (or worse) by some members here, I feel I should mention that, from viewing your latest video, the flasher on the stern inboard of the two rectangular windows appears to be in the wrong location. It should actually be located lower down on the hull. You can see the location in this photo from the studio model. It's the rather obvious bulb projecting from the hull forward of the 1837 number:

I double-checked my facts by viewing the scene in "Space Seed" where the Enterpise first pulls up beside the Botany Bay. I hope my mentioning this does not offend yourself or any of the membership here as I'm sure you would want this wonderful build to be as accurate as possible. In the event you already were aware of this and had planned to address this at a later point in the build; this being a work in progress after all, please disregard this post and carry on.

Love it. One thing I love about you Steve is you actually get stuff done!!!! I work on projects for years and they never quite seem to get completed, lol. She is looking fabulous. I'm seriously thinking that I really don't need that extra kidney but I'm pretty sure I do need the Big E!
