    Fantastic work Paul. :thumbsup

My only criticism is that there aren't enough scuff marks, cracks or pieces of gaffer tape for it to be a true replica of ANH Stormtrooper armour. :love

    Cheers,
    John

    Thanks everyone :thumbsup

I have put quite a bit of weathering on the armour, but it isn't showing up in the pics.I'll have to make it darker I guess.I really love the scratched up,rough'n'ready look of the ANH troopers, better than any shiny new stuff any day :p I'll be adding some gaffer tape to as well as the 02 canister which I accidently missed out :rolleyes

    Here's another

Freakin' sweet armor. I get inspired just looking at some of those shots. I really feel lucky that, those of us who are lucky to own some, have any set of trooper armor, let alone one that looks that good. Kudos on your incredible work.

By the way, what did you use to make the black scuff marks? I think that the soles of my Caboots might work on my TK armor.

Splendid and I love B/W pics, straight off the set :thumbsup .

The only armor on the RPF which doesn't have all the tell signs of a ROTJ suit IMHO (mine included)

Since you don't seem to be needing your ESB version anymore..... ;)

    Ha,nice try Anthony ;)

It's the same suit just with an ANH helmet and hand plates,as well as the holster riveted on the opposite side of the ESB.

Your right too about the armour. There is nothing ROTJ about this suit.Find an ROTJ part or feature and it's all yours. (starts looking for a big box just in case :p )

The scuff marks were made with pastels. They are residue from when I taped the suit up when test fitting, and the pastel dust has stuck to it.I'm going to do some more work on it,I want it to look rough.

Thats just too cool for words. The first thing that jumped out at me was the bottom angle of the shoulder bells. The underlip of the chest plate and the crispness of many of the parts just sets it into a class of its own. Did I mention I want one?

Wait, I think I said that on the RPB like a year ago. Haha.

Two thumbs up Paul. Very nice.

Looks fantastic, but I'm still semi-new to this costuming thing. What is the difference between ANH, ESB, and ROTJ Trooper armor, and why is ROTJ seemingly looked down upon?

Not looked down upon, just that most fan suits out there (excluding FX) has a ROTJ suit as a common ancestor.

    Dude that is sweet.:thumbsup.

You`ve really nailed the way the chest piece is shaped and the way it sits when worn. That and the shoulder
bells just look more `right' than other suits.

    Cheers,
    Ben

werent the gloves in ANH more of a spandex or rubbery type material, and in ROTJ more of a cloth fabric?

    does that count? :love

do i get a free set? :angel

    PLEASE? :D

how long ago did i first talk to you online?

and we were talking ANH troopers?

and you were redoing and retooling things?

Chemical gloves(rubber) in ANH and ROTJ.

Only ESB troopers had lycra/silk gloves.

    Keep guessing Ken :p

I'm wearing rubber gloves in the pics. They are old and fading but still black rubber :) I have newer ones that will have a new rubber hand plate on.I'm gonna try making some from hard silicone, and I think the real ones were brown and painted white. There's a good scene in the detention block escape where at trooper blast's through the door (the one where his helmet spins around and you see his chin underneath) his hand plates look like a lot of paint off and a brown plate.

    <div class='quotetop'></div>
Well Ken,the moulds have been retooled again since this suit was made.I've pulled a set and now I think it's 'almost' perfect :D Some areas just weren't right and now the new bits look even better.I'll have to get around to building it up.

The hero mould has been waiting to be formed for a while now.I still need to wire up my new oven though but I just don't get any free time lately to do anything :angry

    PAUL, this is just... ähmmm....ähhh... there is no word to explain... G R E A T ?.?.?.?.?
I LOVE IT. (and i mean it in a very masculine, heterosexual way. :p )

the best thing about this armor is, that it is completly done by you.
there are a lot of superb armors out here (mike´s TD, clutch´s TK...) but you did it even the sculpting completly alone. that is absolutly unreached.
    be proud. :thumbsup

in ROTJ they had the same socks you were wearing?

    no?

    nothin?

there is a speck of dust from 83 that somehow stirred about and landed on the armor?

    :unsure

    Cmon.

    seriously though...

yeah we all hate you. :angry

    but in a good way.

cause thats possibly the best fan sculpted ANH armor EVER.

    WOW.

long time in the making... but worth it.

did i ever tell you that i wished i had a set...

couldnt remember if i mentioned it or not... :p

This is probably the only time I have seen a replica where its made me think that it would actually be better to own an accurate replica than something that once originated from an original but is less accurate.

That is probably the best set of armour i have ever seen.I thought your ESB version was amazing, but this is out of this world.Well done mate :)

I too am another looking to purchase trooper armour in the future and its only after looking at armour such as yours that it further pulls me away from buying an FX suit out of desperation :D I want a set of armour so bad,but im prepared to wait a little longer and spend more to get a more accurate version.

I've watched you improve your armour time and time again over the years when you showcased it all those years ago on the RPB. It truley is a thing of beauty, you know your stuff buddy. I must come up and visit you to see the vac form setup, like I said a couple of years ago.

    Kudos

Yeah it's been a while now Tony.I still have those old suit's gathering dust in the loft :p In fact I have a few but they are all early test suit's made from 1mm HIPS.I have recently thrown piles of armour away, just test pulls and not worth keeping.I need to really clean up there in the loft, there is hardly any room to move. What with all the junk from the house,a vacformer and a few funny looking moulds ;) I'm hoping to get down to the NEC again this year if you want to meet up :)

    -Paul.
