I don't understand why this is so hard for some of you to understand.
When I get lousy service and awful food at a restaurant, I don't go there again.
That's how capitalism works. I have a CHOICE.
I don't HAVE to buy it just because it says "Star Wars" on it.
I never said I hated Rebels or Clone Wars. I just never watched them. Solo honestly didn't interest me so I didn't bother watching.
I saw TFA and liked it when I saw it initially but it would all hinge on 8. I saw Rogue One and thought it was ok. Nothing really special and again it didn't add anything new or meaningful to the series that felt necessary to know. I saw TLJ and nearly walked out.
It's (sadly) taken me this long to realize I only like Star Wars, Empire and Jedi.
Believe what you want.
I'm still attached to it emotionally. Clearly. I'm not delusional. Or maybe I am. Though no more delusional that anyone else here. I just wish that if they were going to continue making these that they would have handled it with more care.
Complaining, or participating in a discussion?
I thought this was a discussion thread.
I mean sure, they can do anything with the story. It doesn't mean it's a good choice. Having Steve show up as a ghost would make more sense, but I doubt that's what will happen. This is one of the issues I take with it from a writing standpoint though if they go that route. If a ghost can interact with the physical world (as established in TLJ) then it begs the question as to why they have not intervened in the past to help shape events?
To me that opens up all kinds of narrative problems.
I suspect that 9 won't change many people's opinions on the matter. If you are willing to settle for mediocre Star Wars, more power to you. I just expect more.
Is this your first day as a sci fi fan?Bitching is fun? Lol
I haven't seen the Mandalorian either. Never saw Clone Wars. Never watched Rebels.
And I don’t really care how good people think Rebels or Clone Wars are, they didn’t really look good to me. And I did end up seeing some of both, and I was right. Not for me.
The point is, after the giant middle finger to fans that was The Last Jedi, Disney/LFL isn't getting any more of MY money.
I wish more people were willing to be open to the idea of take it or leave it rather than being so concerned with unquestioning brand loyalty. That's what bothers me. The beauty of this property is that there is content for everyone.
But a little bit of brand loyalty never hurt anyone. I mean why do I watch the Prequels? It's not like I really enjoy them. It's because they are Star Wars, and there's some cool stuff in them.I wish more people were willing to be open to the idea of take it or leave it rather than being so concerned with unquestioning brand loyalty. I watched the whole first season, and I was willing to give it a chance, but a line in one of the last few episodes of the first season made me lose all interest. Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character said something along the lines of “We haven’t killed anyone yet”, meaning they had just been stunning people the whole season. For a franchise called Star Wars, pretending like violence and conflict have no consequences take me outfit the narrative entirely. Plus the animation, designs, and acting were all bad to me to begin with. Too kiddie. But I did like Solo, TLJ (admitting that it has flaws), and the Mandalorian (minus chapter 4).Rebels has a very kiddie start, but gets MUCH better by the end of even that first season.
