Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Pre-release)

The point is, after the giant middle finger to fans that was The Last Jedi, Disney/LFL isn't getting any more of MY money.

It was Ruin Johnson who gave use the middle finger. He is no longer involved. Rumor has it that JJ hated TLJ and has tried to retcon it coughrebuiltkylorenhelmetcough

Same. "When Star Wars is in ashes, then. Then you have my permission to cry." -The name's Bane. Darth Bane. Yes I am THAT much of a loser to paraphrase a Batman reference AND a Bond reference. Cos I'm #coollikethatdoodz

yer gonna smuggle the bluray into your front door all guilty and embarrassed like lol

Ok that was funny. It reminded me of Weird Al buying a VHS copy of the Holiday Special in the video for White and Nerdy.

Forget more Star Wars. They need to finish the Ewok trilogy already:mad:

QFT!

Yeah the problem is that TLJ just magnified the flaws in TFA. Once those were exposed, in my opinion, there was no going back. There's really nothing left worth fixing. Not for me anyway. Han is dead. Luke is dead. They'll likely kill of Leia and Lando too, so what difference does it make now?

I give up. Be grumpy old men lol. You guys remimd me of the time I had the cops called on me when I took my Vader costume out to the town.

I don't understand why this is so hard for some of you to understand.
When I get lousy service and awful food at a restaurant, I don't go there again.
That's how capitalism works. I have a CHOICE.
I don't HAVE to buy it just because it says "Star Wars" on it.

To can put a restaurant out of business but you can't cancel the premier of a movie.

It's only a movie and from what I have seen it looks like JJ is trying to clean up Rians mess.

I never said I wanted to cancel the premiere.
I said I won't be going.

My point was that Disney won't be affected by your boycott. It's pointless. Disney saw what happened with TLJ and already canceled future release for the time being. At this stage just let it be. Don't be A stick in the mud. Losen up and let yourself escape the mundane daily lives we all go through. The movie is happening. No amount of boycott will change that and Disney is aware. They already started their course of action as their response to it.

It’s not just a matter of boycotting the movie so Disney loses money. Some people just don’t want to watch the movie. And that’s—shh, don’t tell anyone—totally fine. No one is required to see this or any movie. Them saying they don’t want to see it isn’t just “a bunch of old stick-in-the-muds” not wanting to “have fun”. They don’t agree with big story, production design, casting, and directing decisions. Not liking these movies does not equal not liking fun.

(Also, a lot of people didn’t see Solo in theaters and the movie didn’t make back its money. Just saying.)

Our refusal to see it isn't going to stop Lucasfilm.

We are just choosing to not waste our money. The point isn't to try and make Lucasfilm change. They are a corporation who will do whatever they please.

I know the basic plot of the movie. I've heard the leaks and the movie is going to suck. All the trailers and TV spots have consistently confirmed what I've heard.

Speaking for myself, boycott has nothing to do with it. I suspect that doesn't have anything to do with it for quite a few others as well.

Yet they continue to come to this thread. They are drawn to thread about a movie they don't want to see?

The same thing happened with endless bitching about the prequels. It's not going to be changing any time soon.

This ^ is why we are where we are at with Star Wars. The story line no but the selling to Disney yes. There is even a documentary called The Fans Vs George Lucas about the bitching fans. Do we ever learn or let history repeats itself?

I'm well aware of that movie, in retrospect it looks even more asinine than it did when it came out. Way back when, I was a prequel defender. You should just get used to it, as you are telling us to just give in and enjoy it. Please, stop resisting and enjoy the bitching.

It's a discussion, no?

Here's the reason why most of us participate in the threads. It's fun to talk Star Wars because there is story potential in it. How that potential is realized or squandered is the discussion.

Just because Rian Johnson's movie will be partly retconned is not enough to bring me back, which is exactly what TROS is trying to do. I won't be suckered in. Even for a laugh, it's not worth it to me.

Never lol. Life is to short. I have a list of other things I can bitch about.

The discussion is The Rise of Skywalker. It becomes moot when it isn't given a chance
