Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Pre-release)

I think it was something simple like "Star Wars Theory" or "Star Wars Mysteries".

Star Wars theory is the guy who’s making the Vader fan film and all over the Internet

He covered a lot of stuff, really enjoy his channel for canon updates now as well. Since I refuse to buy anymore books or comics...

Star Wars explainer is also a great channel for old EU and new canon updates

I'll check them out but I'm still not really interested in Star Wars. TLJ was the worst movie I've ever seen. I can't even watch it again, I've tried but it's getting worse every time. And it was just an insult for everyone who cared about SW. But yep, Disney pretty much killed it.

Killed it for you maybe. I'm sure everyone knows here that I love TLJ, so I won't go into any details. :D

With a few tweaks, EP VIII could have been salvaged into a better than average Star Wars movie. But to me, it ranks as the worst of all them. I'd rather watch a Prequel Marathon than VIII again. Tried watching it a second time, quite literally couldn't make it last the first 10 minutes.

I hope IX can restore some of my faith, but I'm not sure if they can do it. At least for IX, the bar is set pretty low. If they can match VII enjoyability, I'll call it a win.

Can we all agree that Episode one was the low point in just about everything? Or am I just going crazy?
Call me a “fake fan”, but I’ve enjoyed seeing every main Star Wars movie except for Episode I.
As for the other films, Rogue One was killer but something was seriously off with the acting in Solo.

Episode 2 was a Star Wars film,...not great, but part of the saga,...Episode 8 was an unfunny Spaceballs-like spoof loosely based in the Star Wars universe, made by folks who have no knowledge or respect of the films they chose to parody

J

Funny. That's how I've always felt about Ep. II. It happened to me then, it's happening to you now. Like I said, live and let live.

Funny about the battle between Episode II and VIII and which are the weakest of the saga...

I really thought TPM was the worst for so long, but actually isn't when I re-watched it years later and gained a bit more perspective. At current TLJ and AOTC are both the bottom 2 weakest stories.

They haven't made a Star Wars film since 1980
Fixed it for ya.
I only do this when I focus on Star Wars as the 1977 movie, not as the franchise it’s become. In that respect, I feel like the only movie that came anywhere near the amazingness of the first (and actually surpassed it) was Empire.
Please don’t hurt me over my opinion, but the other movies are great additions, it’s just that they aren’t on the level of the original two productions.

I'll do you one better.

They've never made a Star Wars film. All SW sucks and I don't even know why I enjoy them. Star Wars ruined Star Wars.

I can't see how anyone likes Ep II, but I never begrudge anyone for it. "Live and let live" and all that jazz.

I think there aren't many that like Ep II but even it's a terrible movie it has an story arc, characters with flaws and motivations and feels like a part of the saga.

And for criticizing it George Lucas never called anyone a racist, sexist, ******* or too stupid to understand his work.

There were only two movies that I saw in the theatre and wanted my money back: AOTC and Men in Black 2. By the time it got to TLJ I was not that invested (ahem, opinionated), plus it took TLJ to sink in a bit wherease Ep2 and MIB2 were instantly in the "well that was a waste of everything involved" category.
I dunno, TLJ is head and shoulders above EP2 in terms of cinematography for example EP2 is the epitome of boring flat shots in front of cartoon background, it broke new ground when the camera was rotating around Obi Wan when he was in stasis and Dooku was giving his villain speech...that being said I don't know which I'd watch if I was held at gunpoint out of the two to be honest, tough choice...
