Are you making an allegory about those that didn't enjoy the prequels?

No. Lol.I was honestly thinking about this.

I think it stems from page after page of something like this -

Scene X made no sense, & was a horribly written/directed/acted/conceived part of the film, & it had NO BUSINESS AT ALL in the movie.

Then, a few folks will post their feelings/thoughts about Scene X which maybe spoke to them, & there will be a few posts of actual, rational discussions on the merits/meanings behind Scene X, on both sides, for & against.

Two pages later...

Scene X made no sense, & was a horribly written/directed/acted/conceived part of the film, & it had NO BUSINESS AT ALL in the movie.

There's very little discussion.

Nope, he acts superior and infers that anyone who disagrees with him is just a pouting child.
Not acting at all.

I've said repeatedly that I like the movie, warts & all. Just my view. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. Look at my post posts in this thread, if you can be bothered. I've never tried to come across as superior. I just want to enjoy the discussion here, but you can clearly see page after page of the thread, there is not a lot of discussion, just jumping in to say this thing sucked.

And to be crystal clear, you can agree with me & still act like a pouting toddler. I called no names & even said thanks. If I offended anyone in particular, then I offended them.

Thanks for letting me know.

Very fair point, but considering Lucas was the main conceptualist of the OT, & he changed several things from the initial plan, including Luke's dad, Luke's sibling, & changing Wookies to Ewoks, changes going from one creative team to another is to be expected.

Absolutely, but none of those things were obvious when the films were released. Thats the benefit of having someone in charge of the final product. Where was KK when you had one director making the first part of the new trilogy when at the same time the director and writer of the second instalment had no idea what the first director was doing?

Now poor JJ has to compromise his third part of the trilogy trying to straighten out the gaps/failures of Johnsons effort.

One of the things I liked was what Johnson undid from Abrams' TFA.

- Demystified the Graflex Lightsaber. Remember the reports of this lightsaber opening the movie - floating through space? It calling out to Rey? I thought Rian solved that absolutely perfectly when Luke tossed it over his shoulder. Arguably, that lightsaber should've stayed gone - lost and destroyed on Bespin; but, for the sake of the story it was needed.

- Kylo's grandaddy obsession - complete with helmet to further emulate Vader. "Take that ridiculous thing off." Then smashed it to pieces.

- The Millennium Falcon's new rectangular radar dish? Bye. :D

^Thats a great point re the lightsaber. The irony of having TFA treat a saber with the same reverence that we do as prop enthusiasts is that it reduced my interest in the prop. I care far more about the saber after seeing TLJ treat it as a tool to tell a story and not a fetish object.

Any comment on what was written above that, which was a coherent and polite response to a direct question by someone else? Or did you just want to make a pointless smart*** comment?

To quote someone else describing you in another thread "JD you are ten of the most boring people I know :D Bye.

I'm not one to defend JD, & he didn't need anyone to, so this is just a helpful explanation of his post-

He was replying to someone saying JJ would have to clean up Rian's mess. He then stated, in detail & in a very relevant way, some things that JJ did in TFA that he felt were issues that Rian fixed.

Doesn't look like he responded with a "pointless, smart***" comment, but evidently, a pointless dumb*** response to him was the choice to be made.

Stuff like this is maddening.

I understood the post and responded more than anything to its pointless finish. Any danger you might respond to the original post in response to yours? Maybe you should just focus on that.

#2089, It was only a couple of hours ago and just a few posts up and you were online at the time of posting. To tell you the truth, I`ve lost interest now anyway.
