Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'd like to see Luke be like the ultimate powerful Jedi you just don't ef with. He's typical lovable Luke but when he needs to. Watch out. It's going to be ugly.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I do believe there are some shows for kids that are more than just bright stimuli these days. The problem is that a lot of the new shows don't have to moral to the story of the shows that we grew up with. As far as shows for kids that were dark and had great stories need I remind you all of Batman the Animated Series. I have every episode on DVD and I still love that. Good story and plots with amazing art work.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Like the Superfriends, Captain Caveman, Scooby Doo, JEM, Wacky Racers, George of the Jungle, etc, were all shining examples of morality tales in kids programming?

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Full House, Family Matters, Super Friends, Muppet Babies and Pee Wee's playhouse. Just to name a few.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Actually, I can say I did learn a thing or two from the Superfriends. I'm talking about the first season before those crappy Wonder Twins came around. I actually learned what a red dwarf star was from one episode. Another epeisode had someone using an enlarging ray and there was a brief--very brief--explanation of what molecules were. I was only about 5 years old, I had never heard of a molecule before.

And let's don't forget Schoolhouse Rock! Ask anyone over the age of thirty five to recite the Preamble and you can bet they are going to sing it to you!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

There was a reference to Verb on last nights Psych as well :)

Vive' le School House Rock!

That's what I want to see. That's how he is in the EU, except he does a little too much on his own. I want to see him be like Yoda in the Prequels; he's a teacher and warrior only when the crap is hitting the fan. If Luke is personally going to intervene you're going to get messed up.

Then he needs to be played by Tony Jaa!

I'm semi-serious.

He actually would be a stellar Jedi character, probably one of the younger Academy students. Not a main character, but more like someone that appears in 2 or 3 scenes of the film and kicks some serious ass in the background. Almost like a Ki-Adi-Mundi type of role, where you know who he is but he's not really a part of the story...
Just my rambling thoughts...

See, I hate Luke in the later EU because he spends all his time tied in constipated moral knots rather than acting. So he went from whiny to whiny and ponderous. No thanks. I want him to become Daryl, not Herschel.
