Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

at this juncture with Star Wars OT being over 30 years old and the Prequels being a disappointment I think I'm ready for a blank slate and something fresh. (just keep it the same look and feel as the OT)
... and the more I see Harry, Carrie (hey harry carey! :D ) and Mark making TV show cameos recently the less I really want to see them in the new films. Okay keep Luke but just write off Han and Leia as retired and settled down somewhere in the galaxy.
For me if Han and Leia weren't in it physically I wouldn't mind. I'm sure they will be and it will work just fine but for me they don't have to be in it.
So by definition EU is Expanded Universe and any continuation of the movie story line is "expanded" so from here on out its all "EU" .... :D

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'd like to see a New Star Wars from the perspective of the UnderWorld, in the OT it was about The Empire, in the PT it was about The Seperatists,Now that the Empire has been annihilated.I think the focus should be on the real Underworld, The Crime Cartels with their Bounty Hunters, a Dark Jedi (trained in the arts of the Sith) sceaming behind these Cartels, laying dorment for years, who has been overlooked as a potential threat to the New Republic, The UnderWorld overlooked but so close by......it could work

On the other hand, something like the Yuuzhan Vong a Violent Alien Rase invading the Inner Rim (The Vong is EU stuff , so something similar why not)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Should we be smiling about this actor and hope for the best, or do we already have a sneaky suspision for the worst that could happen, I'm kind of hoping for Ryan Gosling right now.

Glee anyone :wacko

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Google these words:
"High School Musical"

and yes, I am serious.

Hardly a good representation of his talent. Check out Me and Orson Wells if you want to see what Efron can do. Fantastic movie, and he is great in it. I'm not sure he's a fit for the Star Wars universe, but no fair person can say that he can't act.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yeah you can check out the trailer for "Neighbors" as well, for more recent work.... comedic work. Can't hold a Disney pay cheque against anyone starting out.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I don;t even know who this Zach fellow is...
I just checked his page on IMDb.com; the only thing I've seen him in is an episode of Firefly (his first television role) in which he played a young Simon Tam. As such, I can't really comment on his acting abilities, but he looks like the "pretty boy" type that Disney likes to populate their movies with. :rolleyes

Short answer, he is.

Long answer, underneath the image Disney has cultivated on him, he's a capable actor. He's branched out and done more independent stuff recently and he's pretty good. I don't mind him at all.

But do I picture him in Star Wars? Not really.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

He's one of my favorite Villain-actors since he did "Dracula" , he definetly has a Star Wars vibe that could make him Utimately Epic.

Hopefully it's more than just a voice-role.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Oldman was originally to voice Grevous yet he dropped out due to the film not being union.

Oldman could be really good... on that level of actor I would also not mind seeing Daniel Day-Lewis. He's really intense and is one of the few actors that really morph into the character and makes you forget the actor behind the role.... after his work in There Will Be Blood, Gangs of New York and Lincoln I would love to see him in a SW film... but I bet its not up to his own standards as a movie potential.. he picks his roles very carefully and considering he only does one movie every few years he would most likely pass on this

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Besides the great hollywood actors of our age...who are still alive and able to fill such roles, I was thinking about almost forgotten Icons out there . Like Sho Kosugi for instance , who worked with Jean Claud van Damme in one of his first movies, Sho Kosugi is a living Ninja Movie Icon, as a Sith, Jedi or maybe even a Mandalorian Clan Master (if ofcourse addressed in the new Saga), he could still be a tremendous character. There are a few more living Movie Icons out there ofcourse, I loved how Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were involved in Star Wars, would have loved to see Vincent Price and John Carradine being fit somewhere in there aswell, but at least we got two Masters of Horror in there.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Any of you experts recognize this particular 3PO? Could it actually be the new costume? It looks pretty nice, but if this forum has taught me anything, it's that that doesn't mean it's not fan-made. (EDIT: sorry for that train wreck of a sentence)
