The Greedo Killer (Star Wars Chronicles version..)

Finished up another FDM printed DL-44 Blaster. This is the Greedo Killer as it appeared in the Star Wars Chronicles book as well as most of the films promotional photos. The difference if you are not familiar is that this Blaster specifically had the football style weavers.

The goal as always is to recreate it as accurately as possible to the actual prop itself. Again just like all my previous MGC (&c96) replica builds.. the trigger releases the hammer, the bolt can be pulled back, the safety works and will lock the hammer in place, mag plate comes off and the sight will slide. It can also be field stripped and fully disassembled as well.

First these are the some of the specific pics I payed attention to and just some of the math I did for this recreation..

From there everything was drawn up in Solidworks. Including the two uniquely different football weavers in both size and style, Compac Sadle details and dented knob as well as the bent scope itself. Even the Heat Sink Grill’s fins are each designed up slightly different than the next. A detail that probably didn’t need to to be done as it’s almost impossible to see in both CAD and in real life.. but why not right?! I was actually really concerned about being able to FDM this blaster but to my surprise (and with a little ingenuity) it all printed up very smoothly while also retaining the needed strenght as well..

From there it was physically brought to life on a Bambu Lab P1S. The blaster was printed up in different colored PLA filaments taking advantage of BL’s AMS system. The screws, springs and glass lens are pretty much the only things not printed. I used both a 4mm nozzle (.12mm height) and a .2mm nozzle (.06mm height) depending on the part itself and the details desired to be captured. I also added color (white/yellow) acrylic paint to the Compac saddle here for those details to pop and lightly sanded down to dented knob to smooth it out. Afterwhich I used a black sharpie to color it in and the same sharpie was used to color the silver screws black..

1:1 Han Solo's Greedo Killer DL-44 Blaster (Star Wars Chronicles variant) from the OG ‘77 “Star Wars”. This one is BIG…

That's crazy (and amazing).

No US Army Ordnance Corps insignia on the M9 though?

If you look reeeaaaallllly closely at the B&W photo of the left side of the Greedo Killer, you can just barely make out part of the mark. Not surprised you missed it, but if you know LFC M9s, you know it should be there.

I appreciate it honesty and I’ve seen that on other real m9 FH’s but truthfully I can’t make it out at all on the actual film prop so I simply left it off. I can imagine it’s one of those things that is on most if not all of these real FH’ers but I couldn’t bring myself to add without actually seeing it.

This is the best pic we have of that side I believe..

The 48th Ronin so u got me to go down another rabbit hole last night trying to find a FH without that detail to see if one exists. There isn’t enough info out there one way or the other that I could see so I added it into file to see what it looks like..

Well, I dug through my archive of pics - mainly saved from other members' builds here on the board - and did a cursory web search, and ALL of the LFC flash hiders that I have seen have the marking. It's absolutely possible that some may have had a poorly stamped marking and/or a partially worn-off marking. Just thought you might want to know, since you were so meticulous about every other little detail. I think what you added looks great. (y)

Out of around 10 flash hiders that passed through my hands only one didn't have the mark ... I kept it because I also cannot make out the mark on the Greedo Killer picture.
