Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

I honestly do I honestly don't know what to make of that picture of Carrie Fisher. In that picture – even more so than the one-eye picture from a few weeks ago – she looks more like Carrie fisher from the 1980s and 1990s than ever before. However, all of the actual photos we've seen from the film make her look very different and much more like the Carrie fisher of today. Face wider, more wrinkles, more full cheeks. In fact, none of the pictures I've seen from the actual movie look much like "Leia" to me.

So either the pictures we have seen from the film are somewhat misleading and Carrie actually looks much better in the film that I expected her to, or they have heavily manipulated the picture used in this poster.

The old "scotch tape to pull back the skin" trick as used in the Lord of the Rings movies for old Bilbo! LOL

anyone see this new breaching tool ?

I came across it after reading an article about how they just proved Einstein's spooky action theory. the one about an unseen "force that binds molecule's together over any distance. we are learning about a force that binds us together and are starting to make first steps towards lightsaber like tools. I like it.

Yep, It's Quantum Entanglement. It's weird, but apparently "real." My best guess is, based on my limited knowledge of String Theory/ M Theory, is that it is related to the dimensions which reside inside the atom itself, beyond the 4 we experience (3 direction axis plus time).

The rolling footage of Carrie Fisher in the final movie will be photoshopped, too.

Some amount of touch-ups are standard procedure for Hollywood these days. Men & women & kids of all ages, it's everywhere.

The difference between a "makeup & CGI de-aging job" versus "making them look good for their age" is basically just a matter of degree.

yeah it was an interesting article they had "proved" his theory before but the powers that be still said there was doubt. possible environmental impact on the test some kind of light speed communication so they moved the two particles far enough away that if they were somehow communicating at light speed there would be an incremental delay in the change to the other particle when one was manipulated but the change was instantaneous in both so one moves with the other faster than light speed could inform it of the change and apparently satisfied all the parameters set to prove the theory. so the force proven I guess .lol

I wonder if they'll tweak her voice so it sounds stronger and not so much like someone who smoked 5 packs a day for 40 years.

I honestly don't know how to ask this question in order to clear myself or protect others from spoilers but..., I just want to know if Coruscant is going to be shown in Episode VII...(??)

Does anyone know? :D
Nothing I have seen or read so far hints at Coruscant being shown. It seems we're staying in the Outer Rim.

I would love to see coruscant or naboo. Considering that palpatine is from naboo, there might be a reason that the story goes there.

Of course I want to save Mandalore for the stand alone film with obi wan

Forget the prequels

If disney wants me to stand behind their version of this galaxy then they will accept the prequels as canon. If they don't, then they're just doing fan service worse than Lucas ever did.

Seriously, how awesome would it be to go to an abandoned coruscant? One where everyone fled because of the first order.

The campaign against the prequels is alive and well at Disney.

That's really too bad considering that the best thing about the prequels was their galaxy building. That period of opulence was such an incredible contrast to the beat up period of the empire.

And they could still use elements of the prequels to add to the connective tissue of this galaxy.

Frankly, I think it would be brave of then to work in even a few design elements. Show us that they aren't just OT fan boys and that they care about this.

The "Real sets, practical effects" behind the scenes video really drove the point home that Disney was going to perpetuate the myth that the prequels lacked those elements. (Which couldn't be further from the truth. Some of the prequel sets, miniatures, and models were impressive works of art in themselves.)

For what it's worth, I agree with you and I refuse to be ashamed of appreciating the way the prequels expanded the Star Wars universe.

That whole "real set" thing is a stupid argument. I'm so tired of it.

The reason that the prequels looked so bad is that the were too ambitious with a technology that wasn't there yet. Look at modern entertainment. No one refers to the walking dead as a CGI fest. Or district 9.

The CGI looks good now and it didn't when the phantom menace came out. End of story.

The fact is, the falcon that we see flying is a CGI model.

The prequels are there,...they exist......Disney accept that

BUT,....they are consciously avoiding referencing the prequels at the minute.......the prequels left such a bad taste in the mouth of the general public,....they are aiming for mass appeal,....getting back into the comfortable worn slippers of the OT,.....and basically saying "Come back,.....its under new management,.....we know we went a bit off course for a while with the other guy,...but we will guarantee you'll have a great time"

When you say Disney would be doing Fan Service if they didn't show the worlds of the Prequels,....I say they WOULD be doing Fan service by appeasing the Prequel lovers,.....they want EVERYBODY to enjoy this film,.....just like the first film

Disney is (although they look similar) expanding our experience by showing us new worlds

I would like perhaps in a spin off film with Ewan McGregor reprising the Obi-Wan character to revisit Coruscant with early signs of the Rebellion,....possibly Jimmy Smits returning and a child Leia establishing the trust between them

Disney could cover the cracks that Lucas made & make the saga whole

i agree with you, if they did the prequels today, i don't think we would have the argument of too much cgi, and just argue about the horrible acting an jar jar binks lol

district 9 is a amazing movie, not too many complaining about that

The prequels left a bad taste in the mouth of a very vocal section of the fan boy elite...

From what I've experienced, the general public could care less about any of this prequel-bashing or any of this stuff that get rehashed time and time again on the internet.
