Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yeah I'm hoping it does,....Avatar was like tall glass of Coke with ice,..... cool, refreshing, sparkling with life,.....now the ice has melted and it's gone flat

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Avatar was a mediocre movie at best. This is Star Wars. If this is a good movie and it doesn't outdo Avatar I'll leave the planet.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I have good expectations for finally being able to relive the old Star Wars, but I'm not going to make the mistake I did at the advent of Episode I and expect something seismic. We all know how that turned out and I don't want to be disappointed again. But I am optimistic that it will at least be a VERY good movie and, in a way, like old times again. And if it does turn out to be more than that, then I'll sing hallelujah.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I just spotted on Facebook that Jet Cooper, a 3d modeler and prop designer for Pinewood Studios just ordered some Saberforge hilts as samples and reference material for ep7.

IS this the hand we're hearing so much of?

Maybe it is... maybe that thing that sounds so ridiculous is true...?

While I personally hope the “hand” thing is a bunch of malarkey. . . .

Sorry if it’s been raised before in the thread, but I haven’t seen it - could it be that the hand clutching the lightsaber is Vader’s hand, lost on the second Death Star, rather than Luke’s as usually surmised? Certainly, having the hand being thrown through space as one more piece of debris from the second Death Star overcomes the question of “how did Luke’s hand ever reach escape velocity from Bespin when it was last seen falling straight down.” Also, seems like Vader’s hand and saber might have more “plot significance” as a relic/macguffin for some later-generation ne’er-do-wells. The fact that the hand in that picture linked above looked a bit like Anakin’s hand from Ep. II brought that scenario to mind . . .

Exactly my thoughts.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Let's just forget an actual hand holding a lightsaber floating through space. No chance they do that. What is an interesting option and through line connecting all the films would be a crashed ship where Luke's ESB saber is found in the wreckage. It would be a neat way to connect all the films and would raise interesting questions as to how it got there.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Perhaps its the hand of Lukes post ROTJ,.....after he saw Vaders severed robotic stump, clenched his own synthetic fist & stood up to the Emperor......perhaps soon after the celebrations he decided to have the prosthetic removed,......the vision of him being Vader in the tree cave in Dagobagh made him determined not to fulfil that message......& so live a simple life on on island off Ireland

Dunno,....or it could be JJ taking the **** out of us for believing the hand rumour

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

No one? Already posted?

New Trooper helmet?

its all over Facebook and so I just assumed it was here already... I see Facebook posts more readily than coming to this thread. I think it lacks detail but then this is just a quick sketch... I think it will be fine but it harkens to the first clone trooper to me... I hope they weather beat the helmets to make up for the sleek design.

personally I don't buy the whole missing/found/floating around hand idea. in space or anywhere it would be a needle in a haystack... this is how I see it fitting in:

Luke has a robotic hand because of his fight with Vader in ESB.... for some reason or other our old Luke in E7 is going to still own this hand (it won't be severed or found by anyone) there will be some kind of event that burns off the "skin" and his robot hand is revealed ... or after 30 years as a hermit his skin just fell off (Luke the Leper! :D ) I think the hand will still be attached to Luke and functioning but for whatever plot reason his hand will be revealed kind of like it was in RotJ when his hand was shot on Jabba's Barge.

Maybe Luke digs his hand without the artificial skin!

Honestly, I think this is probably the way it will probably go,....& the background does look a bit like Skellig

Or the hand in the posted photo is just J.J. screwing with the fans. I'm sure someone on the film crew is keeping up with all of the rumors just like we are, but they're in a position to put some "spin" on them to ensure we stay confused.
