Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release) (Spoilers)

Mm. It would all depend on whether we see his face, whether Boba's had cosmetic surgery and now looks like an Englishman... But Jason Wingreen is still around, too... Just sayin'.

This has got to be the most beautiful costume seen so far from TFA in my opinion.

I saw that earlier and I agree. So far this is the only armor costume that I think is great. That really looks like a natural progression of the TIE Pilot. The thing on top of the helmet now definitely looks like a blast shield that would sit right over the eyes. It looks like it has a curve at the bottom to fit over the front of the helmet.

Totally agree. Although I do love the new itrooper, this pilot is the perfect evolution of the earlier tie pilots. Now let's get the same treatment to biker scouts and ATAT drivers.

I would have no problem whatsoever in seeing temuera Morrison playing fett. He's already 55 so they wouldn't have to age him THAT much.

Hammill is 64 and I figure that fett is about 10 years older than Luke. So fett should be around 74 right now. They could make it work

In fact, I would consider it to be a major plothole for anyone else to play fett

Outside the cockpit, the TFA pilot looks super nice with the added shoulder & forearms. I dissed the trailer pic cause the helmet looked kinda shrunken, but the toy model ones have a "fuller" helmet look. The asymmetric hose is better than a single front mouth hose option. I'd think Ant Man at that point.
Don't think they've shown the real screen used prop version anywhere. Would like to see that before Anovos gets one going.......

I like it, all of it. What's the issue?
It might have something to do with the fact that the article says stormtroopers are trained with lightsabers. And I can't disagree with that. I mean, I'm ok with it, but only so long as they're actually no match for a true Jedi. If a stormtrooper can go toe to toe with a Jedi and actually survive the encounter (assuming it would be necessary for the Jedi to kill said stormtrooper), that would just be ridiculous...that would be a major shark-jump (and the fact that they were originally going use lightsabers in the early stages of production on ANH doesn't count).

------EDIT------

lightsaber wielding storm troopers...
See?

Then you don't know your original McQuarrie concept art. One of the best parts of SW is Ralph's art, this is no exception. They even have shields.

I don't read that as the implication at all. And of course it counts, it's a nice tip of the hat to a great design element. Nothing about this suggest they are proficient, why would they need to be as there are no Jedi to fight?

umm yes i do know of the original McQuarrie concept art, and am i HUGE fan of his work. i dont like seeing troopers trained with lightsabers... sorry. i can see this becoming true, it takes away from the jedi/sith/dark siders being special..

i hope to god its not true

Again, you are drawing conclusions not inherit in the link I posted. There are NO Jedi left except Luke, who is in hiding. The First Order clearly have some association with the Knights of Ren. It's unclear if the knights all use lightsabers or if its just Kylo. But if they do, and Kylo does, then it would be a reasonable assumption they would show some of their troops how to use one as well. Not like a Jedi, but as a means of fear and intimidation.None of the spoilers have suggested Finn actually holds his own using Luke's against Kylo. In fact it's Rey who has to fight to save him with it.

hey i got a question for ya. i dont really read every single post in this thread and i only jump in once in awhile hoping to get some new leaked set pictures. today my friend sent me another screencap and link off facebook where it brought me to a site (no name site) and was talking about the new trailer and what we will see. have you heard about the knights of ren destroying a temple and wielding red and purple sabers?!

The only similar thing I have heard is part of the flashback/Force vision that Maz help give Rey and Finn. In that vision, I think we see the destruction of the Jedi Temple that Luke tried to build. I think the scene in the first teaser where Luke puts his hand on R2 might be just after that as he decides to remove himself from galactic events. It was assumed the attackers were Sith but now that we know about the Knights of Ren, it makes sense they would be the assailants.
