Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

This is what I wanted to post when RPF went down:

I shop thrift and closeout. All else is blurry and I can't see it. Like some episodes of my favorite fandom.

At this price, I lean on Jintosh for an overnight 3d stl creation and just count the cost of budget filament.
I hear you, Lord knows I'm the King of Vintage/Antiques in every shape and form:) I worked as a cabinet maker/furniture restorer/fashion consultant in another life and while some items are done/built cheaply, it's always the amount of hands that handled/built the product that makes it either expensive, or inexpensive. Now with the pricing of goods and services and the problem with the availability of raw materials, stuff will cost more in the end:(;)

I have high hopes that they might take some pre release reviews and remove some of the more obvious Earth from their suburbia. It is still possible given the time remaining.

So. I need him to wear a consistant outfit; one that resonates with the audience; becomes his 'costume'. And then, I will cosplay til I drop. I have been waiting for him to go fully hatless so I can have another near hairline match. Hair is the worst. Has anyone seen any costume tests with the front/back/sides? I have the IMDB photos so far.

Well, it's kinda fun to see some humor in there...Jude is always fun to watch, either in a serious role or a comedy.;)
A true actor without a common theme threaded through his characters. Believably the "common man".

I can't remember ever saying "Oh Jude Law just forces out his dialogue." It is always believable as he delivers it. I would have to point to editing if anying he says here comes off funky. Too much proven history under his belt to deliver it funky now.

He even interviews well, which could downright save this chunk of the franchise.... this chunk. He is practically a spokesperson. It is like having any of the 80s super talents that were born and raised in the talk show game as part of their job as actor under contract.

Well, I guess I am saying, it gives me a good foundation for this actually taking off.

More confirmation that it's 'The Goonies' in space.

They mentioned the Goonies specifically so that is definitely confirmed.

In the review they said that they had purposely created the ET view from above and, if so, they nailed it but then instilled a form of expectation that it was California, so we all vomitted. HOWEVER, I saw the "on the ground" footage of the same hood and it is, indeed, green lawn and a sidewalk but it ends there. No more suburbia similarity from ground level that isn't just indicative of human inhabitants. Certainly not the Burbank view I was expecting. And it seems they are intentionally throwing in easter eggs for older viewers that are not SW related which I can't complain about. It is at least a nod to old film 4th wall gimmicks while not being "place known star wars hero here and then kill them horribly on screen, suddenly, so we can move on". These are just random bits from the last few decades that the general audience will catch but from different time periods. I badly want this to work because balding guy cosplay opps are few and far between. You have full hair or shiny but few like this and I need this.

That's what I see too. The world in this movie is moderately similar to earth suburbia. They are emphasizing the similarities with the shots & editing.

Hey, don't overthink it. I have hair on top but I still couldn't pull off many of the characters I like without a wig. The color & texture & length are too different.

Fair call, I guess I was hoping for an exact match without the wig but that is just angst and laziness.

On that note..... or a slightly different one..... his poster pose full length coat is quilted like Vader's suit. I do not see that in the detail of his in scene coat. Any good costume test shots yet?
