I can’t believe that they were living in homes with roofs and doors and windows.
Took me completely out of the universe.

If you build it, they will come. You must have faith…the universe will deliver manifestations of pointless criticism within every Star Wars thread; give it time.
Are you saying that NakedMoleRat is "the chosen one to bring balance back to the force", or just that NakedMoleRat may be full of.....And the universe is now back in harmonious balance, once again.

Again, George made them 'Star Wars style'The telescope was a bit too far.
That would be as stupid as if they’d used binoculars in ANH!
That was the first time we’d seen a compass in live action Star Wars!To be fair, we saw the kid pick up the 'telescope' & look into it. No idea what it looked like in there or even if it was an analoge to one of OUR telescopes.
What Luke was looking through was absolutely a pair of binoculars until we saw what Luke saw. The tech & making it otherworldly by adding 'micro' to the word I guess made it 'SW'.
Changing topics, I loved seeing the compass that was similar to Luke's from Battlefront II & TRoS. That was one of my favorite props that I never got.
Sorry to piss on the parade....I know it's a kids show, but I watched the first 2 episodes, Its probably the best produced thing thats been made by LFL for a while & if it was a sci-fi series it would be great, but it isn't Star Wars, it's way too Earthlike,....not just what everyone has been talking about, the suburban set up, on the kids home world,....its everything that Disney does with Star Wars now. They break Georges rules at every chance. The spectacles that people wear, (in Clone Wars cartoon, in Mando etc),...never in G Canon.
It's far more common & lazy now to show things in our world, & too on the nose, as seen in Mando, pirates talk like pirates, have peg legs, use telescopes, pirate hats,....keys,.....compass
George would have filtered or worked out alternatives
I'm sorry guys, I just feel that standards have dropped, if you're grand with it, I'll not mention it againThat was the first time we’d seen a compass in live action Star Wars!
Oh… wait…
So, Star Wars has to either be shiny or dusty, no in between. And no planet can look like ours.
No bricks, no stucco, no shingled roofs.
Got it.
Heaven forbid there be a kid with a tablet reading a book…
I don't watch any of the kids cartoons or kids films, or even the Holiday special, which don't fall into G canon anywayThe Specter of George's Vision is often raised in times like this to cast aspersion on design or costuming choices in newer Star Wars media. However, very often, like in this case, people forget that their are examples from when Star Wars was still under George Lucas's creative control for all these things, and more. I think what people intend to say is that these newer choices do not align with the a strictly pre-Special Edition OT design aesthetic they grew up with, not taking into account that George remained heavily involved past even the prequel trilogy into the first few seasons of The Clone Wars and his choices and allowances grew and changed.
In early Clone Wars days George reviewed and signed off on pretty much every character design like he did in the PT, And Hondo and his Pirate Gang were in the first season of Clone Wars, when George was the most heavily involved. Hondo and his pirates were brought back multiple times, including the season 2 Seven Samurai inspired episode that George took heavy personal interest in because of his love of and friendship with Kurosawa. Hondo and his Pirates all read just like the guys in this Series, and in Mando. Long coats. Lots of belts. Bandanas. Stripped shirts. Bird like creatures riding on shoulders. All things George approved and allowed. Hondo might now be associated more with Dave due to his reappearance in Rebels, but George was invovled in his creation and design.
People also tend to forget that Wilford Brimley wore glasses in Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, a production under George's control where he visited the set at least 3 times a week and gave his sign off on costume and set design choices. (This movie also features a straight up Witch, by the way, only later retconned to a Nightsister.)
It's okay to say that you personally don't agree with design choices, or you feel they seem out of place, but don't invoke George's Vision for things George did himself, even if they were after the OT.
No worries. Not everything is for everyone.I'm sorry guys, I just feel that standards have dropped, if you're grand with it, I'll not mention it again

THIS!No worries. Not everything is for everyone.
Let me roll this one back. I really hope this compass is a Luke Battlefront II star compass (as refuted above) because if not.... What the heck? A compass? I hope, I hope, please be a star compass.I don't watch any of the kids cartoons or kids films, or even the Holiday special, which don't fall into G canon anyway

And somehow they pulled off a 3-D effect on his tablet. When he was holding it out and showing his father, you could see 3-D depth on the screen.Oh and how long do you think we wait for a full downloadable version of his tablet tales?
